Blizzard Will "Definitely" Return to Console Development Someday

I really have to disagree with this, just going on what I played of Diablo 3 and SC2 at BlizzCon. They're both shaping up to be utterly superb, honestly. Don't get me wrong, the ex-Condor/Blizzard North guys are going on to do some awesome stuff (nothing but love for the Runic folks) but D3 and SC2 are incredible amounts of fun from what I've played so far.

The important question to ask here is:

Do you like WoW?

Yes. I like MMORPGs and - while there are certainly some great ones out there that AREN'T WoW - none suit my current needs as a gamer as much as Warcraft does.

No, Diablo is too pure for Xbox 360. Or any console. It would only get dirty with those analog sticks (wink wink) and 8 buttons to do what... 18 buttons are doing? 8 F1-F8 for skills, 1, 2, 3 and 4 for potions, A, S, O, I, M, N, R, W, Q.... 21 without counting the less important ones, like numpad 0-9 or the scroll wheel.

Being a younger gamer I guess I dont have much of an opinion on this however I must say seeing blizzard go to consoles will be...odd. I would prefer them to keep doing what they do best unless they continue their proud tradition of postponing after postponing to make the game awesome for the console people that would be a good twist have them see what we see

Rock n Roll Racing was one of my all time favorite games for SNES. I only wish they would put out some kind of remake or sequel for current gen systems. Oh well, not gonna happen.

For that I'd buy a console. Anything involving a.. You know those psychic, invisible assassins.. Playing as one of them would be insanely fun.

Only read Liberty Crusade, need to re-read and catch up on the rest. And play the game again.

Gotta remember that the Blizzard of today is not the Blizzard of Lost Vikings or Rock'n'Roll Racing. After the dismantling of Blizzard North I don't think we'll see a return to that kind of visceral funitude outside of milking the current WoW franchise. I just don't think that the current talent is up to the task.

I have so many high hopes for D3 that I have to wonder if they could ever meet that standard anymore... What I saw seemed too samey with regards to Diablo 2, and while this doesn't bother me insomuch as I still play D2. It just doesn't shift the game forward. The difference between Diablo and Diablo 2 was significant, adding some real new depth to the game. I don't think I know enough of Diablo 3 to really speak about how it is or is not the same as D2 but from what I saw it was incredibly similar while sporting a new paint job.

I'd read the Escapist special on the first look stuff for D3 and it left me wanting a lot more in the way of what's coming. Is there any way you guys could do an in depth look at the new features of D3 that really stand out from D2 or have you been sworn to secrecy?
