Honestly, I think a Bond film hangs more on it's stunts and production than the script.

Bond surfs an Iceburg Tsunami on part of a rocket car would be amazing if he looked like he was clinging on for dear life, wetting his pants (maybe not for Bond) and finished up on the other side looking like a drowned rat having barely made by inches. Unfortunately the CGI plague intervened and we got ropey powersurfing. Plus Quantum of Sausage's script sucked, they haven't got that much better.

On the other hand, Sam Mendes, John Logan and Mr Blonde! I like Craig, I thought it was a shame when it looked like he'd only get two movies a few months ago.

I didn't like Casino Royale, I didn't even see Quantum of Solace (which is saying something given that I've been a Bond fan since I was seven.)

Craig is not Bond. He's not the films' Bond, the suave debonair secret agent who jets round the world fighting villains in ridiculous doomsday hideouts and he's not the books' Bond, a hard but still charming man who knows how to talk to people, and has other ways out of a situation beyond shooting everything, or running in shakycam then shooting everything.

Craig's Bond is some sort of Bourne ripoff. Shaky cam buggery, awful conspiracy theorist bullshit script, three movies tied together. This is not Bond, it's not the original Bond and it's not the film Bond.

I suppose my final ire is for the film itself. Bond stories are not really related, although some of them reference and mention other films. Having three tied together is a trilogy, and without the Bond name attached to it it would be called a shaky Bourne ripoff trilogy.

Keep Craig, but make the next script either an actual real interpretation of the Bond of the original books or return to the well known formulas of the films. Then I will be happy.

It better be more like Casino Royale than Quantum, that movie was an absolute abomination that I never plan on rewatching, EVER. It did everything wrong that it possibly could, even worse it was the sequel to a film that did everything right.

So yeah, bring on the 23rd, since I doubt it could get worse for the franchise after that last blow.

That's cool. I did like American Beauty and Jarhead, so the director sounds appropriate.

Perhaps I'll some day finish watching Casino Royale. I didn't like it at all. Quantum of Solace, on the other hand, was entertaining.

As godawful as Die Another Day was, I'd still take the Brosnan films over the Craig ones any day. Brosnan *is* Bond to me and to many others. I could forgive some mediocrity from Casino Royale a little for being an introduction to the rebooted storyline. Quantum of Solace though just felt lacking in any real impact.

Maybe 'modern' Craig Bond is just better suited to their writing talents/style than 'classic' Brosman Bond.

For crying out loud they need to kick Neal Purvis and Robert Wade out on the street. They've messed up way too many times already. Let John Logan do the writing solo.

Anything with Brosnan named "Goldeneye" "The Matador" or "Remmington Steele", you mean. DAD was a fucking trainwreck - and eaily the worst film with the bond name attached.
I would gladly watch Die Another Day over Quantum of Solace ANYDAY. QoS is by far the worst bond, and the first half of DAD is some of the best bond Brosnan got to do. The Matador wasn't really that good either, though he was excellent in the Thomas Crown remake.

Sorry to agree with everyone else here, but QoS was possibly the worst shitpile of Bond I've seen, and that counts the Moore Bond crap as well. Poor writing, directing, and the lack of a non-Bourne Bond overtake anything good that movie had to offer.

However, I am still in love with Bond, so I'm crossing my fingers here! Good luck number 23!

Edit: Sorry, not done yet. I felt the need to provide proof of crappy writing. Here is the real-life story they used for the terrible plot of QoS. The lack of imagination here is astounding. A PETA fighting Bond would have made for a better plot than this(mostly for the plethora of naked PETA chicks who would crossover to Bond girls).

Tadaa!

Damn it, they need to get that sonofabitch out of there. Craig is by far, the worst Bond. Keep making movies, just find someone who works.

Ugh...this guy is awful. He has no charisma. He's the same kind of actor as Keanu Reeves.

He happened into a good movie with casino Royale. But Quantum of Solace was garbage. Seriously, I'd like to read the script:

-Foot chase!
-a few lines of dialogue in which craig refuses to emote
-moped chase!
-boat chase!
-Two good looking people stare at each other for a bit. Seems like a good opportunity for Daniel to remain emotionless
-Plane chase!
-Shooty shooty!
-Bond wins! Daniel doesn't look too excited about it though...

Seriously, it's a terrible actor meeting a Michael Bay-style script.

this. i have loved every single bond up until the new ones. they lost their "bondness", (i didn't mind casino royale..but it was not a bond movie to say the least)

they need their massive villain bent on world domination back, they need those small quirks of humor, they need the awesome inventions.

Yeah that's what I immediately thought, too. I guess they both realized how Die Another Day was totally Dench, man.

I can't wait for this. Quantum of Solace was great.

Happy Bond is back, not so much that it's still Craig. He was okay, but I much prefer the suave to the face-puncher.

I don't mind Craig as an actor in general, I just don't think he's the right fit for Bond.

I'm gonna have to agree with Matt on this one, and say Die Another Day was the worst Bond. Quantum of Solace atleast had some good action scenes in it, DAD just...it had nothing. Casino Royale was fantastic, though, and I think that, given a good script, Craig can be an excellent Bond.
