Holy shit I want that suit!

Man, I can only imagine what was running through that guys mind after the explosion went off, and he just got up and walked away! I bet he felt like a badass.
Too bad he loses some badass points, because cool guys don't look at explosions.

There are some exceptions then it seems, cooler guys look at explosions and then walk away ;)

One ballsey guy and 1 set of pre-fallout power armour.. :3

oh damn, yeah I forgot about that... and he couldn't have been looking more at that explosion, considering he was right next to it :O

Nevertheless, still slightly more badass than usual :)

If a terrorist bomb detonated two feet from your face what would you do? If you answered, "die horribly," you're obviously not a Thai bomb defusal technician.
It's funny because that's exactly how I would have answered that question.

I wonder if it really was the body armor, or if that guy just had some kind of freaky luck that day. If it's the first one, they really should make more of those suits. If it was the second...he needs to share.

Ive seen a bomb squad suit before and if this one is anything like that one then Im going to make a couple assumptions

1. That the suit ways over 100lbs, so its not like something you can wear all the time and say your invincible.

2. That the suit does not cover your hands at all in order to be able to work on the bomb efficiently. So im willing to bet that the unspecified injurys are at the least a loss of one or both hands

Maybe im wrong and this is a newer model but the two look exactly the same. Here's a picture of the one im talking about http://fortsmithfire.com/Portals/0/Bomb%20Squad/Airport%20Training%2008-2006%20(10).JPG
When he gets up at around 1:03-1:06 he seems to still have his hands, and he appears to be wearing gloves. But maybe I'm just imagining things...

OBJECTION

He was in a bomb squad. Tell me, is there anything ballsier than getting paid to look at explosions (and survive this kind of stuff?). That dude... That dude is possibly one of the most badass guys I've ever heard. His children will probably end up like this:

hmmm, you make a good point. Although cool guys most definitely do not look at explosions, this guy might just be an exception.

Also, with children looking like that, I wouldn't want to disagree with him...

I'm assuming his "unspecified injuries" had to do with the box of screws associated with that bomb. I hope the asshole that made that bomb is caught and suffers a painful death. Shrapnel bombs are the worse kind of bombs because it's not the explosion that kills, it's the flying metal that kills and maims. Sickening.

Although, hats off to the Thai engineers that made a suite so durable to survive that. That should be bought by other countries to be used for the safety of the people that deal with those death devices.
Um... Made in the USA

What you say mister conductor? I can't come aboard the train wearing "this crazy space suit"? Oh-hoh, I'll leave the train if you and your colleagues can take me out!

As cool as this is, i can't help but wonder why he would open the door? If you suspect theres a bomb in a car, the terrorist obviously rigged it to trigger when something everyone does with a car happens, aka opening the door to the drivers seat or turning it on.
Because they have to defuse it before they move it. The only other way in would have been via cutting tools and those could throw sparks.

Well, he is an EOD tech and his job is to diffuse bombs, and the suit he is wearing is designed to withstand bomb blasts.

I'm pretty sure as he walked away, if there was better sound, we would have heard "LIKE A BOSS" at some point when he had his hands in the air.
