Experiencing World Religions
Contemporary Europe: A History
Plagues and Peoples
The Power of Babel

The first two are for class, the second two are for pleasure. I've been skipping around in them all today.

Just finished "The Creators," interesting read on the history of art, architecture, literature, etc. Rereading "I Am a Cat," by Soseki Natsume. I love that guy, even after English translation it's pretty funny. Also rereading "Lilith," by George MacDonald. Always wanted to turn it into a graphic novel.

the fifth in a line of postcolonial works that I've had to read, so I'm getting a little jaded.
I did a Postcolonial Fiction module at uni. Jaded is the right word lol.

OT: I'm currently reading Crime and Punishment because I want to. It's taking me a while which is annoying because I have a huuuuge pile of books waiting to be devoured after I finish this one.

I kid but what is the last book you've seriously read or are in the process of reading.
Stephen King's "Full Dark, No Stars". Before that, Terry Pratchett's "Snuff". Before that? I've read so many I can't remember.
I've just started watching Haven, based on a story called the Colorado Kid, so I think I'll get that next.

Finally got round to reading "Do androids dream of electric sheep". I've got to say it is one of the best books I've read. I really cannot wait to find out what happens to Deckard and if he actually retires those 3 androids in hiding. It's funny because all my school mates say the book is shit because it's called something that isn't that cool. Some other 13 year olds can be so stupid!

I'm reading The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.

It's very rarely I get creeped out by a book, this one is succeeding, rather well.

I've also been reading far too many law textbooks for my liking... alas degrees...

'Solar' by Ian Ian Mcewan. It's all right, but it's supposed to be a comedy, and it only made me smile once, and if it's not a comedy I'm not sure of it's merits as just normal fiction.

Whatever, it's still quite interesting.

In the middle of The Painted Man (Warded Man in the US) by Peter V. Brett.

It's actually pretty decent, despite no real plot forming for a good portion (I'm 200 pages in, and it has 543 pages). Honestly, I like it because it has characters and we get to see them having experiences in life, thus getting to know not only them, but the world they live in.

After that I'm gonna start reading either Resident Evil Caliban Cove (by S. D. Perry) or The Road (by Cormac McCarthy).

God, I love books. Can't wait to get rid of my list so I can catch up on a few classics.

"Random acts of kindness" by Danny Wallace, it's a lovely little coffee-table book.

I'll probably start The Great Gatsby soon, since it's been about a year since I read it last...

This thread is a guilty pleasure.

I am reading (and in some cases re-reading):

1. The Black Company collection 1
2. Epigenetics in Four Dimensions
3. Epigenetics: A handbook
4. The Drunkards Walk
5. Halo: Glasslands
6. American Gods (I use this in the list loosely, it's the fully casted audio edition, it's AMAZING!)
7. Thinking, Fast and Slow
8. War of the Worldviews

All of these are awesome so far. But one book cannot keep my attention day to day. There are others that I have abandoned in the name of books that are better at the time. No book goes unread in my collection though. Also, this is gonna sound weird. I like audiobooks and everything for when I'm stuck driving a lot, but nothing beats the feel, weight, and smell of an actual book.

I recently finished Sourcery by Terry Pratchett. I don't really find the stories in these early Discworld novels (I've read the ones up to Sourcery, in order of when they were published) to be that extremely exciting. I do enjoy reading about the Discworld itself, the interesting world Pratchett has created.

I am now reading Om Gud by Jonas Gardell. It's a Swedish book (I'm from Sweden), and the name literally means "About God". And that's what it is about. Gardell writes about how God came to be the way we see him today, from a basis in the Bible, as well as other historical evidence. It's a great book, and gives important insight for everyone interested in religion, especially Christianity, no matter if you're a Christian or not.

I am later planning to read The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster. It's nice mixing different genres, and I've been wanting to read some crime for a while. And it's considered a modern classic, and classics are always interesting to read. I'm also looking forward to reading the classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey, which I got for Christmas. I also want to reread the sci-fi classic the Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov, which I read a few years ago. I didn't read it in the right way then though; I didn't appreciate or understand it really. Maybe I was too young then. I also want to read The Myst Reader, the latest Mass Effect novel, the latest The Elder Scrolls novel, and the first book in the Dune series which I haven't read at all. And there are many more books I want to read too, of course. The pile just keeps growing.

Going through a couple right now.

Rereading through the Wheel of Time in order to prepare for the final novel taking a break between FoH and LoC. Spent a chunk of last weekend reading (and finishing) The Way of Kings, rereading the Demon Cycle series right now. Finished Alloy of Law a couple weeks ago.
