Perhaps I am the only one who thinks that a "family friendly" collection of comics shouldn't have graphic violence or nudity. There are plenty of comics out there that don't feature those things. Don't get me wrong I personally love comics like Kick-Ass, Punisher:Born, Sin City, etc. but I wouldn't want to find them in a "family friendly" set. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

man wtf? When I was a kid, if i saw a magazine picture with some hot broad in a bra and panties I'd rip out the page and horde under my bed. If I saw boobeh, well I'm not sure I would've done. I never saw bare breasts under i was like 14 when my friend exposed me to porn.

OT: This kid has no future, he's a chicken shit rat.
I think you and I had similar childhoods in terms of pictures and stashing them under the bed like they were outlawed works of art. I'm pretty sure he's going to be teased to death about this on the playground.

Oh yes, because the cover of that comic looks 'Family Friendly'. Damn someone smack the mother and the store owner for obvious retardation.

Parents,

If you wish wish to keep their children in a bubble until the age of your choosing, please consider the following:

If you buy a comic book, game, or other media for your child and are worried about them possibly being exposed to unsuitable content, please be sure to either inspect or research the item before purchasing it to insure your child is only shown what you wish them to.

not that I'm saying this story is news worthy (tis not), but if you also live here, then you should know that EVERY BLOODY DAY is a slow news day...they needed 5 minutes filled, and they had an angry soccer mom. of course they rolled with it

Others have said it, but I'm a little worried about the kid.

10 yrs old and naked women make him mad? Mommy issues? Didn't I see this same M.O. on Law & Order SVU a few seasons ago?

Oh no, not NUDITY!! The violence is fine, of course, but those pixelated nipples might scar the kid for life! I'm honestly ashamed of my own country for this type of ultra-conservative, sexually-repressed behavior. As far as I know, this kind of thing only happens in places under very strong influence of Abrahamic religions. What a damn coincidence, eh? /sarcasm.

Breasts are natural, folks. Violence is too, but is far more destructive than sex taken by itself ever was, or ever will be.

Well I guess it's mostly his fault for buying it without even looking through it first, partly his mom's fault for not checking it out and making a huge deal about it, and partly the media's fault because the media seems to have run out of video games and movies to be offended by and are going all the way back to comic books...

Okay, WTF? Seriously, Grow the hell up! (to the mother)

I mean, some of the more interesting comics does indeed have freaking nudity. Is it good nudity? Nope, though I will admit I had to relook at Silk Spectre to indeed see that you did get to see a nice pair for like one frame in Watchmen, and Preacher's tomboy Tulip actually put a smile to my face when I ran across her rather appealing busom.

But seriously, it's been and gone, and that kid's probably saw ten different breasts online, grow up x.x;;

WAIT....So if it's offensive to them, but yet the guys are allowed to marry a lot of women for the sex.....Something doesn't add up.

Besides, it's not the stores fault. It's a comic book, not a porn story about graphic sex. Plus why tell the news? That's like saying you killed someone, and get socially punished instead of going to jail.
Ummm, the main Mormon (LDS) church has not practiced polygamy in any form since 1890, so harping on that is a little old. True, most Mormons are fairly conservative, so I'm willing to bet the kid and his mom are part of the church, but anyone practicing polygamy is officially excommunicated from the LDS church. Maybe someone has already pointed this out to you, it's hard to know since there are 8 more pages of posts.

WHAT? Ok before everyone goes "ZOMG MORMON FREEKING OUT ABOUT HIS RELIGION" im an atheist. Mormons are polygamists... they has lots of boobies. Kay? Kay
Wrong. I've already corrected this assumption from an earlier post, but it seems to be horrendously pervasive. The mainstream Mormon church, the ones whose missionaries you see on bikes or walking around on the street, do not practice polygamy and haven't for 120 years or so. Anyone found engaging in the practice of polygamy is excommunicated from the church.

I can understand the parents being annoyed. It was pre-packaged so she couldn't see inside and it suggested it was fine for kids. To be honest I think they acted correctly.

But that kid... "I saw a naked lady and I got mad." He's a different 10 year old than I was.

I don't really see why anyone should care. The little boy can't go forever wondering what a women looks like under their clothes. It's not like he's ruined for life. America is a nation of prudes.

Hahahaha, oh Utah... Who looks at the comic cover "Hmmm, skulls on pikes and death... looks like fun for the whole family!"?
