No.....

God Hand, Spike Out, Viewtiful Joe, and even Urban Reign are better 3D Final Fight games than Streetwise.
That game legit killed the franchise, lol.

But man, I think Capcom is screwing up by not making a new Final Fight. Especially with Yakuza and some 3d beat em ups being so popular. Them also having DMC under their belt, I think there'd be a lot of cross pollination from a bunch of different game communities.

Street Fighter 6's World Tour Mode is basically modern Final Fight combined with Yakuza/LAD. World Tour is Final Fight 4. Though yes, I wouldn't mind a 2D throwback or 3D mainline game.

Yakuza Pirate is an absolutely insane as hell game where you can do hyper Armor EWGF against a weab samurai in Hawaii and Juggle Extend him to the Shadow Realm with 2 pirate swords, a hook and shadow clones. This game, combat wise, is ACTUALLY what I have always been wanting to see from the series. Crumple States are great for combo extensions or crowd control, dodging and blocking correctly give good reward, but don't mitigate the game into "just wait to counter and kill them" type of situations you see in most of the games.

Majima himself feels super nimble, can really move around the environment with ease, and basically can cancel anything into dash or Jump. His jump and dash cancels aren't probably all that optimal when you consider his extended ground combos, but they are REALLY good at getting you out of sticky situations if need be. Currently right now, my only complaint is that you don't really get punished for jumping in the air much. Game could use an SOR4 Donovan for this.

But man, color me with all the colors of the rainbow and then some with how excited I am for this game! This definitely gonna be one of the best games in the series, if not, THE best.

That good, huh? Well, as a fan of the Yakuza series for a while now, I'll definitely have to remember to grab this once I'm finished with Elden Ring.

I didn't know about this. Rushing Beat X was featured at the Taipei Game Show on January 25th. Still no official release date though. At least we know Double Dragon Revive is coming out this year in October.

I was trying to find the steam page for this one and finally got it.

Shitty localization replacement name aside, I'm pretty curious about this one. I saw some people play and having hella fun.

Played Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder last night at an arcade.

This game doesn't get brought up a lot when it comes to talking about the series in general and I'm honestly kinda shocked. I forgot about how Golden Axe on SNES played, but I remember it being very stiff with limited movement. But in this game, you can run and do dash attacks, OTG pick-up throw enemies (though it seems very situational) and cancel into your Super from regular attacks (This is probably all on Genesis GA, but I can't remember for the life of me). I was actually quite impressed with how deep this game goes, especially when it comes enemy interactions. Being surrounded by enemies is actually REALLY bad. If you get surrounded by even just a few behind you and you're dealing with some in front of your character, you're most likely gonna die. It's usually better to disengage from crowds and try to get them facing your character, cuz nobody in the cast has a good "get off me" type move like in Final Fight or SOR. However, once you get enemies lined up, crowd control can be very easy with your heavy swing attack. Especially also true when you're riding an animal or have a stationary weapon available.

And what is a beat em up without that one annoying ass enemy? Aka the skeleton soldiers. God, dealing with one of these bastards is tough enough, but having 3-4 of them at the same time is seriously so screwed up. It's an enemy with very fast walk speed, faster than Stern can walk, can block your attacks, has a 3-hit combo that can keep you in hit stun and does 1/3 your health or more, a projectile attack, and has jumping attacks that are hard to see coming from all its other shit that it has! God forbid you face more enemies or its kin along with it, because you WILL definitely get stunlocked to death if it catches you with that long ass combo it and other enemies are tearing your shit up.

But damn, even though this game has some cheap shit, it does feel fair when you're on the offensive outside of some bosses who just break out of your combos. Enemies can pretty easily be set-up to get TOD'd or 2-touched if you have the right combo or animal, and the knockdown/dizzy state enemies have are great if you wanna throw them into a crowd for extra damage and killing them.

Game is pretty short, but it's also hard as hell. You're definitely gonna need to go through the game a couple times to get a good grasp on how to deal with the sequences and sections of enemies the game throws at you.

But damn, this game is fun! I should play it again soon sometime.

. I forgot about how Golden Axe on SNES Genesis/Mega Drive played
Correction made.

I agree. Still the best game in the franchise and has never been topped in combat since. If you have two or more players, everyone has a tag team grab where they can perform an Izuna drop on a singular human sized enemy or human sized boss.

I played Vigilante (T-16 version) and China Warrior/The Kung Fu (made for the T-16 exclusively). Both are single plane brawlers, but the former is a port of an arcade game, and the other is a tech demo for what the Turbografx-16/PC-Engine could do. Vigilante is the better game, and this console port I found much better than the arcade, despite some minor downgrade in animations and sound effects.

China Warrior can be fun, but is much more limiting. It's an auto scroller brawler, can only move the screen in the one direction, aside allowing your Bruce Lee clone to move back, and most of your opponents are small items or insects and bats. The only human sized opponents are mook monks that collide into you to damage you, and end stage bosses.
