He could have been planning to hold up the store until BLACK Ops comes out.
I just had to do it.... ¬.¬
Seriously? Half an hour into a thread we've got two people who feel they need to point out that the guy is black. Grow up.
hey now, Im surprised it made it half an hour. you should be proud of the fellow escapists for being able to self contain for that long.

damn, I was just in that mall a few months ago, that is some weird shit man but glad they caught the idiot
Him not having shoes seems suspect. Maybe he is mentally ill, who knows. It's too early to be calling him an idiot.

Heard about this whilst in my H&S class. From what I heard (rumor) he had been angry about Black Ops, although the exact reason was unknown to me.

There is no indication of the suspect's motives and we may not know for several days.
I'm not saying the guy is right here... but I think I know his motives. #1, he's obviously insane. #2, GameStop's business model basically rams it up the consumers ass, so everyone hates them. I'm actually surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner. We gamers are a wiley bunch, afterall.

Part of me wonders if all this negative attention on gaming thanks to the Supreme Court case inspired this. Though by the sound of it, this mighta been the act of a total wackadoodle nutjob, and the location might have been secondary. Unless he really did go loopy from games and was convinced Cortana was telling him this was a mission objective.

I'll love seeing Fox cover this if the guy turns out to be a fundamentalist trying to burn the evil video games. I really, really hope that's what this is. Anything else will be given a bad spin...

Keep us posted man. Was he a past employee?

OT: That's a bit drastic, no matter what he did that for.

I live just outside the mall. It's surreal watching the smoke pour out of the mall. Sadly, this will not make Gamestop reconsider their pricing on merchandise.

I doubt theres much more to it besides he was batshit insane.
Same here, this doesn't exactly smack of brilliant planning. The lack of shoes and anti theft device thing in his pockets kinda seals the deal for me.

I think some one took Moviebob's latest GameOverThinker about "The Revolution" a little too serious.

We don't know which games were set on fire by the suspect.
Given that the neighboring stores were soon on fire, I'm betting on "all of them".

More seriously, though, I doubt he picked and chose carefully in an effort to make a statement on man's inhumanity to DVDs.
