If I broke up with someone, I'd try not to be so impersonal about it.
But with all the fun of having everyone on facebook see it written on your wall.

Greaaaaaat. You get the worse of both. You don't get it face to face, and everyone knows the next day
Why would I care if other people see/know it? They'd find out anyways.
eh true, but sometimes you would want to break up and be done with it right? Instead of letting the whole world know like 10 minutes afterwards?

But I've....never....been in a relationship...so I wouldn't really know.

Dumping another person over mail, SMS, Facebook or any such method is proof that that individual is a spineless worm. Man up (or woman up, I guess) and do it to the other person's face. That's the least you can do...
Well said.

Also, any relationship that's ended through facebook probably wasn't all that great a relationship anyhow!!

That Are You Interested? got my boyfriend in trouble. He'd been using it since we got together, claiming he was single and talking to his ex on it, calling her gorgeous.
I know someone who hacked her boyfriends account and changed his relationship status for him, then ignored his calls. It's one way to do it I suppose.

Same here. I'm just saying hypothetically.

You don't brake up with someone over the phone, through a text message or through Facebook. You just don't do that. You do it face to face. For crying out loud, even I know that.

How's "You just don't do that" a justification for anything?

You didn't provide any proof for your ideas. None at all. So any kind of argument similar to the one you just made deserves to be mocked and laughed at.

I don't see a problem with facebook dumpings. If you don't care about the person anymore, you just don't care. I'd probably do it myself, although given the way most of my relationships are (thankfully) - open-ended and without commitment, because fuck that, breaking up is rarely a big deal.

Although when I was in my early teens, I've got a girlfriend literally weeks before I moved out of the country forever without telling her. She didn't know, it was hilarious. It's been years since.

The kind of people who use Facebook don't have the maturity to know any better. I'm surprised it isn't higher than 25%

Well okay. Well I hope we don't find out what it's like to get dumped over facebook

So pretty much, People=Shit, right?

That's horrible..

Although.. full disclosure, I've broken up with a girl through an email that a friend wrote.

But it was my first one, I wouldn't do that now.

I know this is tragic and all, but I just can't help but tee-hee at the fact the related image is that of Mass Effect.

Ehem...

Facebook a cesspool.
For those vapid and selfish.
No sense of respect.
While its a good haiku, facebook is great if I want to throw a party or catch up with friends.

I currently don't have a girlfriend and the girl that Im interested in doesn't have a facebook page and she goes to my church. So if I get her to become my gf she's not be able to pull such a move and she'll have to see me somepoint in the next week since she sings in the choir

No, I will always say it to the person's face, barring some real douchebaggery from my significant other, in which case I wouldn't care either way.
