I haven't noticed lag yet. ((Im playing it on the 360))
Maybe when i wake up in the middle of the night and get paired against people in Spain or something. ((I live in the US of A, and im not proud of it))
This game got bad reviews because its not a CoD clone. Its not a twitch shooter. My friend plays Blops every day, ((and hes decent at it)) and shooters take up 90% of his collection, but he didnt like brink, because it wasnt CoD.
One issue with it is that it kind of forces people to adapt. Sure you like being an operative and sticking people with a spike grenade, or being an engineer and placing turrets and mines, but you'll lose every match if no one plays soldier and plants the bomb. Its a team based game with an emphasis on team, and everyone these days wants to lone-gun it.
I honestly dont have a single friend who owns brink at the moment, but i play it online all day and never complain, because im willing to play a class i dont like for 3 minutes of a 30 minute match.
Brink gives you alot of freedom to play however you want, the customization is great, and the gunplay feels amazing.
I personally was never a fan of TF2. I didnt like team fortress one bit. It felt alittle 2D, with each class only being able to play one way. Brink fixed that for me. I can be a heavy operative, and do great! ((strangest contradiction, but its magic if you play right)) Or i can be a Light medic and use my speed to save my team! The restrictions of TF2 are kinda removed, but not unbalanced, and it works great.
Oh, and free DLC is always nice maybe they'll throw in a top hat or possibly some new levels.
