I'ma say the lieutenant that was Captain Badass Price's mentor in that sniper mission from COD4.
didnt he die?
Could have, I mean he survives the mission but being that the game takes place like 20 years after the flashback, maybe. You could say the same for Gaz since you never see him again and Ghost is like his replacement, basically.
But in an early mission, you hear Price say 'MacMillan would be proud' after sniping some people. In my mind, that tells me he became a training instructor of some kind. Still could have died though. Also, Ghost is exactly the same voice actor as Gaz, and you do see Gaz get shot in the head (What spoilers? It's four years old!)

OT: I'd say Sonny from the Flash games, but you play as him, and technically he might be dead. So I'd have to go for MacMillan. Too awesome to die. Possibly Archer/Toad, you never actually see them die, although survival is unlikely.

That guy in Jade Empire. Sure, he seemed a bit... dim. But that's just because he was in a foreign land, not used to his surroundings and such.

Can I go with Wheatley on this one? It technically didn't say no personality spheres or robots.

Wheatley never died. I wouldn't really view him as evil, more bumbling and then just on a power trip when he takes over. He isn't playable and he isn't a "complete" moron as his surprise was actually pretty ingenius.

Actually Maccer and his friends were kinda idiotic, yet memorable. Especially at the impressionable age I played that game. Definitely one of the classics.

SGT Waters
Call of Duty 1

He was pretty much the Gaz/Ghost of the squad, but he didn't die.

"British" means English, Irish, Scottish or Welsh so Cpt. McMillan does count

I think the Irish might have your arce on a platter for that.

the Irish are quite noticabley NOT British. they even had a big fight over it, see?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Troubles

Perhaps you mean the Northern Irish, whom are British and have nothing to do with the Irish.

How about MacGregor? (CoD2) I can't recall if he died or not. It might not count, considering the fact that he was surrounded by Brits, possibly breaking condition 5.

Do quite a few of the people from The Elder Scrolls count?
For example: Martin in Oblivion.

1) Doesn't die, turns into a god/dragon/statue
2) Isn't evil
3) Isn't playable
4) Isn't an idiot.
5) There are quite a few British characters in Tamriel, but I'm not sure if they're predominant. The imperial guards for instance seem to almost all be "American" but even then, it's not Britain! It's an entirely different universe!

Captain Price from Modern Warfare series, DAMMIT he was playable. Maybe Archer from the MW2 Loose Ends mission? He might not have died.

MAJOR LOVE FOR THAT GUY.
I've forgotten his name. Mcsomething. He was amazing, that level was the best thing that has happened to Call Of Duty.
Since there are S.A.S characters in Modern Warfare, I think they are British? And not stupid?

Eleanor Lamb from Bioshock 2.

1: She survives
2: She's only evil in the evil ending
3: The closest you get to playing her was a plasmid that summons her
4: She's a genious
5: There's only one other British character in Bioshock, and that's her mother.

Scottish, English and Welsh are British, as they make up Great Britain, Irish is not as it's a different island. The exception being those of us from Northern Ireland, who under the Good Friday Agreement have the right to claim either or both nationalities.

Edit and On topic: does Psycho actually count because he was playable in Warhead.
Well actually, Ireland may not be in the Island of Great Britain and only part of it is in the U.K., but it's still in the British Isles!
We just got all geographical up in this thread!

Yes you can. It would be similar to, say, Texas, deciding it didn't want to be a part of the USA any longer.
You can't. Britain isn't the political system, that's the UK, Britain is just the name of the island.
Well, there's Great Britain, the big island that doesn't include all of the little tiny ones around it or the considerably sized Ireland, but the British Isles includes Great Britain, all the tinier islands around it and Ireland.
British Isles includes: All of U.K. and Ireland.
Great Britain includes: most of the U.K.
