its up to the parents not the government. they must be bored or something
Surely that is exactly what the proposal aims for. Parents can decide whether pornography is accessible or not.

This won't effect the SUPPLY of porn from Britian will it? I mean, not like I care what becomes of BustyBritishBabes.com. *ahem*. Don't do it Britain... Think of your erm... threesomes. I meant freedoms! Your hot women's accents must be heard! I mean their voices. YOUR voices.

Stand up for your rights!

this is an interesting idea actually, especially the line "how to go about blocking them in a way that tech-savvy kids won't be able to bypass in about ten minutes flat" if the idea is to protect the innocence of children, surely a kid that goes out of his/her way to break through a filter isn't doing this accidently. If they made the filter weak enough that it COULD be broken with some proxys etc then you'd prevent accidental access, those who were determined could easily get through, and concerns over censorship of sites like wikileaks would be academic as one could easily break into them too. of course the problem still is implementing such a filter that would not slow things down, and the issue with compiling such a list. I mean geez, nude pictures are in far more places than just porn sites

It never ceases to amaze that the western ruling caste is made up of disingenuous idiots, pushing agendas not in the interest of the public, but their own half-baked ideological convictions.

Fuck them.

Another day, another slew of shrill responses on these forums precipitated by a grossly misleading article.

Calm down dears! Contrary to the headline, the government are not proposiong a "Universal Ban" . Instead, they want ISP's to sign up to a voluntary code of conduct. All very hands-off and Laissez faire. For a more accurate rendition of this story, please see below;

This is what the government is wasting their time on? Really? Banning boobs?

Because there aren't energy crises, economic recessions, or evil bad guys in the world anymore. Clearly. Getting rid of boobs is what's most important!

I thought only American polititions were that fucking stupid. Giving control of the internet to the government, yeah great fucking idea they won't abuse the privilige to blacklist websites they don't like. Great job people, let polititions run your day to day activities because your too god damn lazy/incompetant/irresponsible to handle it yourself you fucking children! (only aimed at irresponsible adults and adolescents).

"Oh gracious me, little Jimmy has just seen a naked woman! What a fucking tragedy indeed, we must ensure the little blighter cannot do it again by restricting everyone else's rights and privacy." Fuck that shit.

People should stand up to this bullshit, take back the power and responsiblity from a bunch of rich old fucks working towards a totaltarian government.

Hold on a second. Protect children from what? xD

I mean like, what's so damaging about showing children two people going at it? Really? Like really?

If kids want to see porn, they'll find porn.

This is ridiculous.

If kids want to watch porn, let the little perverts watch it, at least it means they're not gay (Unless it's gay porn of course which i'm pretty sure kids don't know they're gay until they're an adult)

What I really don't get is how two people having sexual intercourse (Which is complete nature) Is so much worse then someone cutting another mans throat and drinking his blood (Which is sometimes cultural but not normal and in my opinion a lot worse then some cumshots and anal)

Yeah, they just want to make sure we pay for it.
That's what i saw coming out of this. The opt in would probably require a monthly fee, and why does this matter, the internet is the last place were freedom of speech really exists, you can do anything and say anything because of 1 thing. On the internet you are anonymous and being that you can do anything on the net people want to make sure that we can't do anything "bad" or rather things that they deem as wrong.
