this guy needs to take up Ash's shotgun and chainsaw

I love bruce and saw him live at a showing of Bubba Hotep but he is getting a bit old to do actiony stuff believably.

Nicholas Brendan has the look and the ability to be goofy yet play the part straight.

Oh kickass! I've been looking forward to another evil dead film for a long time! Few of my favourite B-movies of all time!

A remake eh? That's still pretty awesome.

Hell yeah, remake!

I was hoping it would be a remake, as I think it's a little late for a sequel. Anyway, there's precedent for a good remake; Dead by Dawn was leaps and bounds better than the original.

What's this? A new generation of chainsaws and boomsticks? Remake or not, I'm game!

That's good news, albeit still a rumor - but a rumor that got a big boost late last night by way of a tweet from none other than Bruce "Ash" Campbell, B-movie legend, best Elvis ever [http://www.amazon.com/Bubba-Ho-Tep-Limited-Collectors-Campbell/dp/B0001LQJMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310493364&sr=8-1] and of course the "hero," as far as that goes, of the Evil Dead franchise.
This paragraph needs more Sam Axe.

What about Burn Notice?
cursedseishi said:
Aye, he is one of the biggest parts of Burn Notice, even had a direct-to-movie made about his character, which included a healthy dose of references to older Bruce movies.

Or his burn notice movie

I don't want to bust any bubbles or set myself up for a firestorm but, Evil Dead 4 and an Evil Dead remake have been talked about for years upon years upon years. Especially after reading MovieBob's last article about Hollywood double talk and movies not being done until they're released, I really don't think I'll believe either ED4 or ED-remake are actually happening until I have the movie tickets in my hand.

I still want though. I need to clarify that I want them to be real.

Wow, I can't believe this is happening. If it is going to be a remake, let's just hope Bruce Campbell plays Ash! Hail to the king, baby.

I still haven't seen any parts in the series besides the original. Which I own a fancy Special Edition of. Sort of disturbing that the most memorable scene is the one where that one girl was raped by plants.

Now, I know Bruce Campbell is a good actor, but it sure didn't show in that original movie. I really have to watch the remake (Evil Dead 2) at some point. ^^

I'd say the movies are scary in a comedic way. If you've watched "Drag me to hell" alot of the "Horror" aspects have a nearly comical take to all of it, as well as the other movies.

Its funny if you're not the one being bitten by the demon goat. But I thought they borrowed a few jokes from evil dead. I can't wait for this remake but I liked evil dead 2 more. Just because Ash is insane by that point.

What?... Look I LOVE all three films in the franchise but shit! Evil Dead 2 is a remake of Evil Dead, do we need three versions of the same movie all made by the same people?

I'd say rather than borrowing jokes Drag Me To Hell borrowed the style of Evil Dead.

And since Sam Raimi did both movies, I can't really say "borrowed" is really the correct term. It's just Sam Raimi imparting his unique style.

Anyway... I'm all for this movie. I'm kind of curious as to what Bruce Campbell's involvement in the project is going to be though. I sincerely hope he's going to reprise the role of Ash, but since the word is that this is a remake of Evil Dead and not a sequel there is the horrifying possibility that someone else could be playing Ash.

Can anyone imagine that? An announcement that the role of Ash will be played by Shia LeBeouf or someone... Horror... That dude isn't fit to polish Bruce's chin.

I just watched the third, haven't seen the previous two.
It felt out of place with its wacky humor, midgets and such in it, but I liked it.

I read the bold tag in Cave Johnson's voice, and the tweets in Bruce's. What have you done to me escapist, why do I deserve this madness?
