Oh dear, I do believe I have soiled my undercrackers in excitement.

Nope, that was just a well timed aftershock.

Well, Evil Dead 2 was a remake of Evil Dead and it kicked more ass than the original. So, I can see this new remake of Evil Dead also kicking ass.

To Fede Alvarez: I don't know who the fuck you are, but you've got a tall order to fill, my friend. If you fail you'll never find work again. If you succeed, you will become one of the new greats of the medium. Do not fuck this up.

HOLY SHIT!
The dude that made panick attack comes from my backwards, unknown, small, usless, third world country. Uruguay!

Here's the video if you want to see it. We are told it was made witha budget of under 300 dollars. But I think that doesn't take into account the man-hours of volunteer work this must have had.

Actually, every Earthquake is a Deadite shuddering in fear of the King. Aftershocks included, as well as every other potential natural disaster ever made.

That being said, i hope they dont just remake the first movie as a 1:1 Version with just updated Effects and such. Rather have a "re-envisioning" as it were, take Evil Dead, and remake it into something even more awesome.

They better keep the B-Movie vibe and add more one-liners.

Man, two awesome pieces of news in one day!

I Knew it. Those bastards. Hiding under a holy-esque named place. A reimagining, nay continuation with Old Ash would be sweet, dammit. Bit tired of reboots, though, why start again?
I will still watch it though. Wonder if they will manage to hide the inevitable CG, the early movies' appeal partially derives from the old style of special effects. Love me some stop motion.

I may be contradicting myself here, but a remake of "They Live" is in order. If they're going to bring back the Duke quote movies, they may as well do them all.

As my fanboy brain is going off in all directions my rational brain is saying "Isnt Brucie a bit old to play a college student going off to a cabin with his girlfriend?"

Yeah I don't know why people thought it would be Evil Dead 4. It says right in the tweet "Believe in the remake."

You can't remake something that has never existed.

Haha, awesome! Here's to hoping it turns out just as entertaining as the originals! Regardless I will likely watch it.

Meh, I wish Raimi was in the director's chair, though I honestly don't care too much for Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness, so I suppose no harm comes from him not being on the project.

What really fucking pisses me off is that this is going to be a remake of the first film, which I consider one of the most atmospheric horror films out there. Few films remain have aged as gracefully as Evil Dead 1: a lot of horror films lose their edge when they get old, but ED1 is still a creepy and compelling horror film. I guess fucking morons can't like an Evil Dead movie unless its full of slap-stick crap. I just hope it doesn't get turned into a fucking horror comedy. Anyone who thinks the masterpiece that is Evil Dead 1 should be a horror comedy just needs to leave this plane of existence and find a new one where their horrible taste in film is more welcome.

Goddamn it, does it have to be a remake?? I want to know what happens to Ash twenty years later after the Army of Darkness ended with Ash still kicking the Deadites' asses. Even Evil Dead 2 was technically a remake of No. 1 (for the first 10-15 minutes), so why the fuck are they beating a dead horse? Why not a new story!?

Actually, this gives me some hope. I want to see a remake that really embraces the dark twisted nature of it done by people who know what they're doing. I want to see the slow boil of Ash as he decends into insanity while being forced to kill and dismemeber his friends. When he starts laughing and making jokes late in the movie, it'll then be a sign that he's truely lost it.
