My evil dead lore is a bit rusty... but aren't Evil Dead 1 and Evil Dead 2 already remake/the same movie?

Seems weird to make yet another remake...

Yeah I don't know why people thought it would be Evil Dead 4. It says right in the tweet "Believe in the remake."

You can't remake something that has never existed.
Yep, and even more embarrassing Movie Bob mentioned this as an Evil Dead remake in his blog last night. :)

Honestly, while I'm immensely skeptical of an Evil Dead movie not starring Bruce Campbell, I'm also not sure if an Evil Dead 4 would work out. Presumably from Ash's perspective it's been twenty years since AoD, I'm sure it could work but that doesn't mean it's likely to work.

Now if there was an AoD remake I think Campbell would make a fantastic Evil Ash.

What about Burn Notice?
cursedseishi said:
Aye, he is one of the biggest parts of Burn Notice, even had a direct-to-movie made about his character, which included a healthy dose of references to older Bruce movies.

Or his burn notice movie

Elect Chuck Finley for Immortal God-King of Space!
These fine folks know what I'm talking about. Mojitos for all of you!
Much like Michael Westen in season 4 episode 9, I'm not really going to buy you guys mojitos. Sorry.

I never really watched burn notice.
And you sir... Both Chuck Finley and Mister Slicey are not very happy right now.
Indeed Chuck Finley is very dissapoint ! And mister Slicey is not happy at all.
And i cant wait for the new episode.

Also, i love the whole Burn Notice cast, but Bruce is my fave.

About the disclaimer.....

And Hollywood continues its tradition of raping old material in its complete and utter lack of originality and creativity.

A sequel faithful to the first two? WITH Bruce Campbell?! :') My faith in humanity is restoring again.

I'd rather see a film version of the musical. We know how well remakes have gone, we could at least have some fun with it.

And I think I'll stick to comics for sequels. Bruce isn't quite up to Stalone's point where trying to relive his glory days just looks gross, but he's close.

Groovy!

If they mess this up, I will personally decapitate everyone involved with the movie, except for Bruce. Just joking (kinda)... Wonder if Bruce will still be the main character or just a cameo/secondary character?

The only way I'm going to see this movie is if it has Bruce Campbell as Ash again. Anybody else, no sale.

I honestly can't say I'm excited for yet another horror remake, and I have the sinking feeling that they're going to cast some 'young new lead' whilst Campbell gets a brief cameo role or something of the like. In fact, that's probably exactly whats going to happen. Sigh.

I really wish people could just stop remaking things and leave well enough alone.

As long as they keep the Norwegian Violation Trees from the original, I'm game. Cuz that stuff was just wacky.

Movie is being remade AGAIN? Face it, Evil Dead 2 was a remake of Evil Dead, anyway.
Partial remake. The first movie is retold briefly within the first fifteen minutes or so (they couldn't get the rights to footage from the first movie, and they couldn't get the first movie's actors back). The moment Ash gets smacked against the tree by 'the evil force' is where the first movie ends and the second movie begins.

Count me in for seeing this at the theater. (Depending who else they cast, though Sean William Scott wouldn't be amiss)

If I ever happen to come across Sam Rami in the street, I will gladly hand over my £10.
I will shake the man's hand. That's worth more than 10 pounds, 10 euros, or 100 dollars.

Cool!! But I'm kinda bummed out by the fact that Raimi isn't directing, I mean what the hell? And since it's a remake, they better make it good.

Huh...not sure if want.

On the one hand it's totally awesome that we're getting another Evil Dead movie, but on the other hand, it's a remake, and there's a very good possibility that Bruce Campbell won't be starting in it if it's a remake of the first movie since he's too old to be playing the male half of a young couple.

Wait, this is going to be a remake? I thought Evil Dead 2 was a remake of Evil Dead... This might suck. Dammit, and Bruce is damn near three times his age from the first one. What the hell role will he have in it? If he isn't Ash, I may have to kill neighbors to quiet the screeching voices of disappointment and that means prison time...

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME, BRUCE?!?!!

I don't feel the usual irritation at this being a reboot because if you look back at the series, every movie has been a reboot of the first one, almost like alternate universe what ifs...except every universe is populated by deadites so there's really no 'winning'.

All the same, new Evil Dead=cool, Diablo Cody helming the script= sassy...now we just have to wait for word on a director (fingers crossed for Zack Snyder)
