I know I'm not going to be popular for this but, I hope Tau are in this one.
You kidding? Tons of people here like Tau. Hell, I'm one of them. Tau would be awesome, but Necrons would be scary awesome.
As an Orkz player, I hate Tau with a passion.
I miss my old 1500pt Plague Marine army, sigh damn the new codex...

Anyways, most people don't like tau because they don't really know how to deal with them and another interesting fact, IG can easily outshoot tau if they are designed well.

I would like if there were a real differences between Space Marine chapters like in fluff. Not just different skins like they are in DoW2.

I get the feeling that this is just going to result in dozens of Angry Marines vs. Pretty Marines youtube videos.

Like that time the Necrons teamed up with the Space Marines to fight off the Tyranids. Maybe we could see a Necron/Marine army.
.
I could see if they do a Grey Knight army one of the upgrades would be Sister of Battle Blood Armor, or perhaps if you select the Ultramarine chapter you automatically win

Guess I'm the only one who is hugely disapointed about base building coming back, I actually loved how it was a non-factor in DoW2.... IG could build some turrets and other structure, but there was none of that 'You need to build a Refinery to build a Science Lab to unlock 'the guy with a big gun' unit' bullshit that other rts are known for.

Customization is nice, but I hope gameplay remain closer to DoW2 and doesn't go back to DoW.

As soon as i saw Colgar on the front of the site i knew it was going to be epic, and i hope the battles will be as large as the first DOW game.

Agreed, actually. I think a good balance would be to implement a similar type of base-building from Company of Heroes. Yes, you technically build a base, but it's really only two or three buildings needed for units/upgrades, the rest are just defensive structures. If people want to play more traditional RTS, Starcraft is still there, and it's practically 40k in aesthetics already. I for one want no/limited base building and controlling/upgrading units by the squad. Hearing more army customization is certainly nice, though.....I just hope it really is gameplay/army composition wise, and not more over-priced skin packs.

All that being said, still a pre-order for me.

Well yeah, one look at my Avatar should tell people that I will be buying this game no matter what :p.

But yeah, I do also wonder if the 'extra-customization' will only be about appearance or not... DoW2 already offer a lot of customization in the sense that most units (in fact, almost all) can be upgrade with different gear that ends up dramatically changing their function and effectivness.

I've sunk many hours into Dawn of War 2 and I expect the same with this game. It'd be interesting if they went with point limits like in the tabletop game and gave people the ability to go in with custom armies and try their luck. Part of multiplayer matchmaking is making sure battles vary while still staying manageable. No one wants to win every match (and feel unchallenged) or lose every match (and feel useless). Having two random people go in with armies they made beforehand could really help with that variance. You might go melee-heavy and get torn up from afar or vice versa. Basically, two people with the same win/loss ratio and skill level could have vastly different experiences based purely on their choice of army. Base building would probably have to be in a different mode though.

I hope this means me and my brothers can now get our Dark Angels, Blood Angels and Space Wolves with all their proper traits instead of generic Space Marines.

I think you're missing someone important from that list. BLACK MOTHERF(*&ING TEMPLARS.

OT: Sweet. So basically putting back in the one thing I missed from DoW2? Sign me up.

Black Templars and Eldar here. looking forward to maybe being able to play sokme templars in this one. I love my religious nuts. And maybe include the Grey Knights redux in there so you can use some dreadknights and storm ravens.

I'm not falling for the DoW tricks again. All the stories sucked in the games. The only true reason I bought those games was for The Last Stand minigame.

And now they want it to be 'MMO like' and 'MOAR army customization' and army building.

I liked the groups you had in DoW 2, I hated the generic copy-paste story arcs in DoW 2: Retribution.

Stop masterbating on Blood Ravens, THQ!

Two Thousand Grots

The guy in the picture is Marneus Calgar, Chapter Master of the Ultramarines. He has a storm bolter in his gloves, which are actually power fists. You'll need slightly more than 2000 grots.
