What the hell is going on? Is this the End of Days? I never thought in a thousand years that Activision would get in bed with Bungie...

they weren't happy with destroying Infinity Ward..

Wait... I guess Bungie wanted their wads of cash and the advertising capital Activision has.

Dissapointing though. Probably detrimental to everyone but the people making money.

Meh, the Bungie name lost all relevance to me around the time they released Oni. The original Myth games were innovative and polished. Bungie had a huge amount of credibility with hardcore gamers around the time of the development of halo but lost most of it when they sold out to microsoft and subsequently changed their entire M.O.

Bungie and Activision. Well, after Bungie has sold their souls to Microsoft...That deal is not surprising me.

Seriously?
Who at Bungie said "Hey guys, you know who we should work with? The most hated publisher in the world!"
And why the Hell did anyone else agree with him?!

I take it no one's going to bash on me (eww) when I say that Bungie are fucking morons.

Can't say I'm overly surprised by this. I'm not 100% certain I would have chosen Activision but then again, almost no one else has that kind of reach.

Just think about it; Bungie is one of the biggest development studios out there right now with, love them or hate them, one of the best known names. Everyone knew that once they "finished" with Halo they were going to be looking for a bigger audience but it's tough for a development house alone to not only create but also market their titles.

Not saying it's a good thing (as a Bungie fan I'm as worried as many others), but I'm not really sure why some are reacting with such shock.

Even though I hate Activation, Bungie will be ok. Its still going to be a self owned company, separate from Activation. And it will own all its IP, new and old. It's going to be like the EA valve relationship. I'm hope full that it works out good for Bungie, but man I hate Activation.

As I said before: as long as they don't encounter the same fate as Infinity Ward...

Hopeless Bastard said:
Bungie's sole claim to fame was (not intended as an insult to anyone who plays them) dumbing down first person shooters so they could function on console platforms.
That's not true at all.
While I agree with you on the dumbed down part, Bungie were also famous for making the Myth and Oni games.

This worries me, Bungie has always been known for being good to the gamers who play their games and Activision is know for screwing their gamers as much as they possible can.

Bring back Marathon? Well if Activision doesn't own them then you can bet there will be some hollywood accounting to magically make the billion dollar game a loss.

Bungie guys, points on the net are for suckers, get points on the gross.

But Activsion is... Well... Evil. Couldn't they sign on with EA, Pony, or make another deal with Bighard?
