So they're broadening their pipeline of games from generic shooter to generic space shooter? Yippee. How long until Bungie fall apart and have to reestablish themselves under a new name?

Honestly, they should have backed away as soon as the whole IW thing started.

Aw come on ya'll. It can't be all that bad. Remember Monty Python? "Always look on the bright side of life..."

This could mean that Blizzard and Bungie are teaming up to make something awesome.

Quoted for truth.
It's not exactly the same situation, Bungie and IW. But at the very least some fiasco like this should ring some alarm bells in the Bungie camp. With both developers having similar game styles (both making a living off big title FPS with a heavy multiplayer emphasis) it is possible that Activision is going to handle them in the same fashion.
Remember; history doesn't repeat itself, it rhymes.

I love how people only call it Activision Blizzard when they're not doing something completely f*cked up. It makes me have hope that Blizzard itself will not be totally screwed over in the future.

Stonking great. I guess that now, their reputation is certainly ruined forever. Or at least for very long. Why didn't Bungie back away slowly when they saw the IW debacle, i don't understand.

So their new IP is gonna be a franchise, we all know Activision won't publish a game unless it can get a sequel at least every other year. Unless they're working on a mutil-platform MMO.....

"Infinity Ward is one of the premier studios in our industry and we are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with their talented team over the next decade," said Activision Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl. "Infinity Ward has developed some of the most compelling and successful games, multiplayer experiences and thriving fan communities, and this alliance underscores our long-standing commitment to foster the industry's best creative talent.

"Our unprecedented partnership with Infinity Ward will enable us to broaden our pipeline of exciting new games as we continue to strengthen our industry position and pursue long-term growth opportunities." He added.
A quote from Activision's press release when Infinity Ward signed on with them.
Probably.

Well what can we do but play the 'wait and see' game?
Hopefully this won't end in contract-breaking, lawsuits, and lost bonus money.
But I'm betting that when this deal ends, it'll be a fun news week.

Well, at least PS3 fanboys can play Bungie games now, since Activision is all about the multiplat.

Now that this story is confirmed all I can say is that Bungie must have the most water-tight contract ever if they are willing to partner with Activision, even after all this IW fiasco.

God help me if they destroy that studio like Activision did with Infinity Ward. I will personally come over there and do a Kratos on every single staff member in Activision.

And thus the problem with capitalism big fish grabs attractive little fish and forces it to produce a product while then over charging for it
