Now, I don't know all the facts. Maybe he said something to her before (highly unlikely, but possible), but from what I see in the video, she was being a ***** and no one was stopping her and she was just continuing to aggravate the bus driver. And then he finally had enough and popped her one.

She deserved it. It's a classic case of all bark and no bite.

That was one wicked uppercut though man. Wow.

Anyway, I've seen people say this wasn't "reasonable force", in that she was not about to cause him any reasonable harm, and all she was doing was being really, really, really fucking annoying.

I put it to those people that dealing softly with people being really, really, really fucking annoying, just encourages them to continue to be really, really, really fucking annoying. Nobody wants that.

Meh... Ethics aside, it was a mildly amusing video.

But daaamn, I've never seen a woman so confident that she could do ANYTHING she wanted with no consequence. She just sat there, screaming at his face, slapping him in his face, spitting on him. Holy shit, if that's not DC Metro I'd be very, very surprised. If I had a dollar for every time something like this could have happened or looked like it was going to happen...I probably could have saved a few bucks on fare but still. I'm sure the world is really missing out what with those videos being taken down. Oh where will we all go to watch women being punched in the head because we're totally equalists, guys. And filling up pages of cheers for women being punched in the head is completely healthy and normal and not creepy at all.

You seem to be approaching the situation like everyone just enjoys watching women get beat because they have gender issues.It's funny because a person was acting like an asshole and they got what they deserved.

What the OP was trying to say what worded so that it sounded offensive was, people instantly demonize this because society teaches men that women are never to be harmed. Which is nonsense IMO.

that probably wasn't a very informed or relevant thing to say good sir. Given the issues at hand, one must consider the complexities of human rights, women's suffrage and the history of gendered discussion on this very forum. And saying such things can only be said out of hatred and bitterness for women or humanity in general or some misplaced position of social outrage at the concept of women having the audacity of not wanting to be raped, and then stating that a woman getting punched by a bus driver is even marginally related to that issue, or any movement for women's rights, is evident of a lack of empathy, information and social etiquette.

The difference though is that one acted like a complete violent asshole, and the other one did a shoryuken (or down+hard punch if you want to be more accurate).

It's not longer about gender. No barriers exist anymore. All that's left is that uppercut. The uppercut bearer walked down the short hall to give the prize to the recieved. It doesn't matter who the bearer is, and as long as the recieved act like a complete douchebag and is of a decent age, the moment still feels good.

Is it senseless, overly violent, and very very stupid? Yes. But is it entertaining to see someone acting like that get uppercutted. Yes.

I feel so bad for enjoying this. I'm simultaneously hoping that the girl is OK and that the bus driver doesn't get too much time in the slammer.

I can't see the video... I think I should be relieved.

It's certainly a change from what happens around here (bus driver assaults got bad enough that they had to PUT ADS IN THE BUSSES REMINDING PEOPLE THAT ASSAULT IS ILLEGAL). I don't care about the gender involved, it's still not something we should be relishing.

Although, seeing how the driver of my bus is usually a petite older woman, it made the mental image very interesting...

Any sympathy I have for either of them is gone. It's in the negatives for the girl.

That said, it's still not something I'd go out of my way to watch. It feels... voyeuristic and nasty. Kind of like Zangief Kid.
