ok this deserves caps...
HOW THE $%^& CAN A GAME BE MULTIPLAT N ONE PLACE AND NOT IN ANOTHER WHAT THE $%^& THIS IS BULL!@#*.

On a calmer and less ranty note it should be observed that 80% of games region coded for america for xbox360 work just fine in the rest of the world.

I don't blame Sony, they would have just made an offer, that's what they do.

If you are going to hurl shit, send it Atari's way.

This is a massive fuck you for everyone non-Sony in Europe who have been waiting for this game despite all the delays.

Oh well. A game I was going to maybe buy is now a complete skip over.
Agreed. As if this was going to make me buy a PS3. If Uncharted wasn't gonna get me to, this sure ain't.

Do I need to say that this is a perfect visual analogy on how Europeans always get litterally buttfucked by the videogame industry?
Replace "Europeans" with "360 owners". I'm quite comfortable with this.
1. How are the 360 owners buttfucked in europe?
2. I would have expected that comment from a 360 fanboy but from you?

Only say literally if you mean it.

Do you really mean that the gaming industry bends over europeans and inserts its penis in our bottoms?
Yup [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.84438].
I have to agree with WrongSprite here, that is a huge pet peeve of mine. Human understanding relys on metaphors and analogies, and the word literally is likely the only way to separate the 2 in ambiguous circumstances. Using literally to simply emphasize the point kills the word, and muddies language as a whole. Unless everyone in the gaming industry is a registered sex offender, then your not being literal.

Reasons like this I still don't understand why people don't own both a PS3 and an XBox 360. I mean c'mon, they're both really good, even if you do have a preferance of one over the other.

And if it's the money issue, get a job!

I wonder if they tried to snag a WORLDWIDE temporary exclusive but couldn't, and then settled for this?
I'm wondering this as well. Doesn't bother me either way though since I have a PS3. It's good to see Sony giving Microsoft the boot for a change. I wish they could have pulled a worldwide exclusive, and hope that they'll be able to negotiate more of them in the future.

I don't have a PS3 and I do have a 360, but I do realize that all is fair in love and war. The only reason I'd be upset about a worldwide temporary exclusive is because for a long, long time (When was this game first announced? Well over a year ago now?) we have been told that it will be available for all major consoles right off the bat; for that fact to change so late in the game would be kind of bad form, but that would be more of Atari's fault than Sony's. After all, Sony can wheel and deal all the want; Atari has to give in for the deal to be done.

This.
The only other similar thing we Americans we could prossibly complain about would be the wait for James Bond movies.
And after QoS, my annoyance strangely disappeared...

Is it just me or is it when Microsoft does this you people are fine, but when Sony slaps you in the face you throw a huge fit?
It's nice to see Sony get back a Microsoft thought for the DLC crap.
See there! We get Ghostbusters and you guys get buggy DLC, sound fair?

I'm not debating exclusives. I'm debating the gigantic dick move that Sony have pulled. But you know what? I'm gonna be pissed off all I like. Nobody likes having a game they want pulled out from under them. If this was reversed and Microsoft was in Sony's position, PS3 owners would be pissed off and they have a right to be. Same with 360 exclusive DLC. Neither party are saints so let's just drop the arguing.
First, see my edit. MS did the same thing with Velvet Assassin.
A) Velvet Assassin isn't exactly an great game now, is it?
B) Velvet Assassin wasn't ported to all the platforms in America, AND THEN not in Europe, was it? So, Sony are actually shafting us lot in Europe.

GrimReaper801 said:
Secondly, we PS3 owners have been ass ****ed more than once on more than one game. And everytime there were thousands on 360 fanboys running around telling every PS3 owner how we suck and how the 360 is superior everytime a PS3 owner mentionned something about MS's dickmoves so you'll excuse me if seeing 360 owners basically saying it's ok for MS to do these kinds of things but get all up in arms when Sony does the same thing. It seems a lil hypocritical.
Same as Sony have keep every Final Fanatasy on Playstation until recently with the Nintendo DS, and even then, its the old ones. As for the 360 fanboys, I fair enough, but Sony are the ones who whined about Microsoft first and then pulled a similar but worse dickmove. You can see how that irksome, surely?

Anyway, I just hope a) either its rubbish and not worth caring about, or b) they bring out the port to PC at least in Europe.

the PC version (which is the only interest I have in the whole affair) will be released in the US on schedule, in other words, it'll be available to the world minutes after midnight on release day.
Now watch Sony whine about the death of PC gaming as their sales 6 months or even a year later for the PC version of the game are abysmal, while the only one to blame are themselves.
Why on earth would they publish the PC version?
Atari will most likely handle the non-Playstation releases in Europe, but Sony secured a temporary exclusive.
As for those non-PS versions, that's Wii, 360 and PC version, yes.
Of those platforms the game is released on only the PS3 and PC have the raw processing power needed to run the game-engine with the maximum physics levels. 360 (and Wii) will have to make due with toned down physics because the platform simply can't handle it.

As for why they would publish a PC version? Simple, largest install base on the planet.
i.e. buckets of potential income, hence the "whine" comment by me about low sales in the PAL regions by releasing the PC version in the USA first, they're pretty much begging for high levels of piracy with this stunt.
