Finally, all games come to PC eventually, be it by emulation or port, it always makes it. When that time comes I will play some of the games, probably not many.. but I am sure I will play one or 2. The main reason I got into this is I don't like PS3 fanboys just like I didn't like XBOX fanboys. PS2 and XBOX 360 fanboys never bothered me because they were/are not so insistent on their system being best because it was/is; they don't ruin a good laugh.
This infers that somehow your opinion is written by the hand of . However, you attempt to whitewash it with 'Or not my cup of tea anyways'. It's merely a thinly veiled fanboy argument, Sir. And one most people can see right through.
Secondly, SCEA games, are Sony property, and therefore never hit PC _legally_. Additionally, emulation for PS games is always terrible, extremely so (primarily because the emulators are hack jobs, as are the ROM's). So what it sounds like is while you have this exorbitant excess income, you really couldn't care less about pirating games from every system. Well good for you. I actually pay for the games I play.
I don't really care who you do or don't like, I'm not here to find that out. However, this is a PS3-centric article, and well, you probably don't need a slide-rule to realize people who like the PS3, are going to be commenting on it.
Buy it or don't, I don't really think anyone cares if you do. But, claiming you know what quality is, and is not....and then stating that oh they'll just come out for PC years later when I can get them for free, yeah, that's class right there.
ROFL!!!! Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought you were the same guy as Irishhoodlum that start this argument... lol.. Sorry for being so curt. By the time I will play them it will be abandonware.. aka free to whoever wants it, just like a lot of old games; there will be no piracy involved. Also, I do not have excess. I in fact just scrape by, as I said I use my computers for work mainly and play second. Just like a truck driver shells out big bucks for a good truck, I shell out big bucks for my computers. As a result my computer pays for itself 2 and 3 fold. Finally, I didn't insult PS3 until after the Irishhoodlum went all fanboy on me. Look back through the string... lol I need more coffee... I still can't believe I missed the person switch...
But since this all started over me and why I personally will never buy a PS3 my opinion is important as this discussion is about my choice to not buy one, and there are a lot of people who think exactly like I do, and I am sure there are just as many that think like you do.
And as I have said before, there is no such thing as a PC fanboy, they are only elitist and enthusiasts. I am a PC enthusiast as I own a Wii, a SNES, an NES, and a few other random consoles. Not to mention up until about 2 weeks ago I owned a 360... it got boring so I got rid of it.
Actually you can install linux if you want, I'm not sure what state the slims are in but my PS3 has good backwards compatability, and it doesnt have the emotion chip or whatever they were. As for french fries theres a buch of lattices with square holes for cutting but you need the 360 if you want enough heat to cook them, ouch, burn I believe.bluerahjah said:Does it do backwards compatibility? Allow you to change operating systems? Make French fries? I don't think so. As much as I give Sony credit for coming up with an actual marketing campaign for once, it doesn't do everything, but then again, no one wants backwards compatibility, or a dual shock for that matter...
First off, Did I say I haven't played them? I have plenty of friend with dusty(yes dusty from serious lack of use) PS3's and I've played most all of their exclusives... It is not worth it. Also, http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/top_games look at the top list... how many big name exclusives are in the top? Really, I only see 1 that is in the top 10 apart from inFamous because I personally address that as the PS3 version of prototype, but even if you include it, that is still only 2.... (I really like the toplist... cool new feature)Irishhoodlum said:It's ironic that you say this because you have obviously not looked back yourself. Anyways back to two points you've slid around.
1. Consoles will obviously never compare to computers in potential power, and I'm not saying they can. But what they can do is provide an average that runs decent-good graphics games while still being fairly cheap. You don't have to shell out tons of cash to get a system that runs those same games. With a console you KNOW you'll be able to run any game you buy without lag. Maybe you can build a PS3 with extra parts from your house, but 99% of the world can't.
2. The PS3 (not the 360 since its good games are almost entirely available on PCs) has more than 1 good game, and I don't really think you're qualified to judge when you've never played them.
My PC will run any game you care to name with the possible exception of Crysis maxed out, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy 360/PS3 exclusives.
Oblivion at times will lag a bit on my 360.Consoles will obviously never compare to computers in potential power, and I'm not saying they can. so they take it out and drop the price. what now? no backwards compatibility!!! WAHHHHHHH!
STFU already. want backwards compatibility? buy a ps2, or a ps3 that does it or just simply shut up already.
crybaby wankers.
I bought a good gaming computer for $375.00. It can play Crysis maxed out.Irishhoodlum said:First that comment has been made more times than I'd like to count; it's hardly original (read any PS3 commerical-thread). Second, why would you possibly buy a Blu-ray player when at the same price you can get one that plays games? And no good games? Have you by chance PLAYED all the games? Fuck I highly doubt it. Evidently you've never even bothered to look at some reviews.IDBash said:jman5411 said:no he didn't actually.IDBash said:You made a lot of us smile.SmilingKitsune said:Glad I made someone smile.bladester1 said:I think that made my daySmilingKitsune said:It only does everything!.......Except for backwards compatability.

UUUUUUHHHHHHmmmm... First off, Fanboy.. second, I didn't buy the PS3 because it sucks; no good games, and I already have a blu-ray player. Third, the comment made us smile, nothing more, it was an accurate observation that the commercial was wrong about it doing everything. Fourth, my computer is way better. Finally, you need to relax about your system that you spent WAY too much money on. Even at 300$ I would not buy one of these piles of black garbage, not including the 65$ for the crappy games. Take it down to $200 and I would consider buying it. It is still too expensive for not much fun; 1 truly original title, Little Big Planet, that's it...
Edit: Also, I am not cheap and I have kids. I own and build computers because they are worth my money... Consoles are all cheap imitations of computers that irk me by taking away developers that could be coming up with new and innovative games on a real platform!
And I love how you're complaining about costs of the PS3 and it's games. $65? Maybe for MW2 the day it comes out, but most games you can buy on Amazon for $20-$40 tops; cheaper if you want to rent. Of course, while we're on the topic of price, let's add up how much a good gaming computer costs... AT LEAST $1,000 which would buy you a 360, a PS3, and a dozen or so games. And no I won't believe any of the bullshit about you "building your own" for less, because in the unlikely case you did I really doubt it's up to par with a good gaming computer.
Wow because you're obviously not a fanboy. /Sarcasm
You can install Linux on the older versions, not the slims, the way Sony did backwards compatibility on the original PS3's was a joke, I believe that one version was due to hardware, one to an emulator, and one (which I have), never received either.Fists said:Actually you can install linux if you want, I'm not sure what state the slims are in but my PS3 has good backwards compatability, and it doesnt have the emotion chip or whatever they were. Yeah I've got the emulator, I had no idea they took out the linux support, I'm glad I have my 4xusb, emulating and flexible Australian release model.
