Can you recommend a good drink?

I've always been partial to dirty girl scouts. Equal parts White Creme de Menthe, Vodka, Kahlua, and Bailey's irish cream. Typically recommended at about 1 oz each, but you can always step it up a bit.

I also enjoy your basic rum and coke, for its simplicity and ability to get you drunk without tasting too bad.

Also, for a bit more excitement, go with a flaming B-52. 1/3-1/2 Baileys, same portion Amaretto or Tia Maria (depending on what you like), then layer 151 rum on the top (helps to run it over a spoon so the rum runs down the sides and doesn't mix with the rest of the drink). Light the thing on fire and drink it! Although typically you blow it out before drinking, since not doing that can sting a little bit, especially if you accidentally spill.

If you're looking for a beer, I would suggest 1554 Enlightened Black Ale.

Tom Collins: squeeze 4 lime wedges into a short high-ball glass, 1/4-filled with ice. Add 1 jigger gin, finish with tonic water, garnish with lime or lemon wedge, as desired. Awesome drink in any hot circumstances.

Also, beer.

I never really understood the point of self-poisoning.
And I never understood why one should completely avoid something just because consuming too much can be dangerous. Moderation, its a great thing.

OT: I'm partial to Sam Adams or a nice wine myself. I rarely drink mixed drinks, sodas and such spike my blood sugar far more than a beer or glass of wine does. That being said Rum and Coke can be pretty good. You can add some lemon, lime, or vanilla to mix things up.

Not really a fan of mixed drinks, so I usually drink either beer or straight vodka, but Dr.Pepper and Captain Morgans is pretty good.

Also, its a total chick drink IMO, but if you mix a little disarono with orange juice, the final product tastes like liquid candy.

Screwdriver is pretty basic and pretty good. One part vodka 3 parts Orange juice, I think. It might be 2 parts.

For something a little more complicated, a friend of mine came up with a good drink he calls "serpent's touch" It's 2 oz vodka, 2 oz triple sec, and 2 oz creme de menthe.

Dry Vodka Martini:
2 oz. Vodka of your choice (Don't skimp, get something nice.)
A dash of dry Vermouth
Ice
Shaker
Green Olives to garnish
Martini Glass, chilled.

First, put a DASH of the dry vermouth into a chilled martini glass, swirl it around the glass untill the sides are coated with the vermouth, and dump the remander in the sink. Then fill the Martini shaker with ice (An important piece of equipment. No savvy drinker should be without one) Add the 2oz. of vodka (or 3 if you want to go bold. you want to go bold, right?), cover and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. Pour into the martini glass through a strainer, add as many olive as you want for garnish. Simple as hell and you'll feel like a boss drinking it.

Manhattan:
3oz. Bourbon
1/2 or 1 oz of Sweet Vermouth
Bitters
Maraschino Cherry to garnish
Manhattans are pretty sweet, but not in a froufrou way and are actually pretty masculine
Classic recipe calls for Canadian Whiskey, but so far I haven't come across one that wasn't crap. If anyone here does know of a good Canadian whiskey, please let me know cause I'm interested
Manhattains are built the same way as a Martini, but everything except the bitters goes in the shaker.
Fill the shaker half full of ice, add Bourbon (Makers Mark is good, but Knob Creek or Bullite is FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC), Vermouth, and maybe a dash of the Maraschino juice to taste, really up to you. Shake for about 30 seconds (A good indicator when shaking is frost forming on the outside of the shaker, if you got a stainless steel one, which you should.), Shake, then strain into that Martini glass. Add a couple of dashes of Bitters and garnish with a cherry. Good to sip slow while conversing with classy lady's.
A Rob Roy's the same thing, but uses Irish Whiskey.

Old Fashioned
I effin LOVE Old Fashioned's, but I'm not as familiar with the recipie so I'll let Rachel Maddow show you how...
Personally I'm fine with with a big slice of orange and some cherries muddled with the sugar and bitters, but whatever floats your boat, this looks pretty good, too.

And finally, something super easy, if a little labor intensive...
Greyhound
Vodka
Fresh Squeezed grapefruit juice.
The juice is the key to this one. You could use concentrate, but it's so much better with fresh juice.
Squeeze as many big assed ruby grapefruits as you can find into some kind of container, set aside.
Fill a tumbler or large Whiskey glass about 3 quarters up with ice, pour your Vodka in until it reaches about level with the ice, top it off with the juice and garnish with a slab of grapefruit. That's all. Salt the rim of the glass and you have a Salty Dog.
Great stuff and remember: Kids drink to get hammered. Men drink to drink.

Bloody Caesar! 3 parts tomato-clam juice, 1 part vodka and a dash of hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce, on the rocks. If you're feeling fancy, rim the glass with celery salt and a lime wedge, but I don't bother with them...

A buddy of mine and I hit a bar this afternoon and ordered Irish Car Bombs every hour on the hour with a double crown and cokes. Very good afternoon for us.

umm alcohol wise?

I like whiskey and coke
rum and coke
or
take a shot glass fill it half with Jameson and half with Baileys, pour a little less than a pint of Guinness drop the shot glass in it and chug it. mmmm I need some Guinness now.....and to crack open my bottle of Jameson. And if you are going to do either of the first two the way I was taught to make it, its 1-2 parts whiskey or rum(depending on how strong you like your drinks, mine are usually two parts) and 1-2 parts coke

non alcoholic....ummmm actually I don't know anything non alcoholic other than cracking open a soda or drinking water....

1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coke
Recipes vary from place to place. If it tastes like iced tea and not like liquor, they did it right. My friend used to call it a 'girl' drink, until he tried it. "This isn't anything, I'll get another." That turned out well.

Seabreeze
1 1/2 oz vodka
4 oz cranberry juice
1 oz grapefruit juice

1/2 oz Bacardi 151 rum
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz orange juice
1/2 oz apricot brandy
1 tsp sugar
2 oz light rum
1 oz dark rum
1 oz lime juice

I just realized how complicated two of my drink recipes are. lol Then again, when I did drink, I never made my own.

When you are sick or if it's just really cold, mix a shot of spiced rum with heated Dr.Pepper, and garnish with a wedge of lemon. That will warm your entire body up. You'll feel on nice and fuzzy on the inside.
