I know less than a handful of people from Canada, and from them I come to the conclusion that Canada is awesome.

Also, I learned that, in Canada, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are packaged in threes, whereas in America they come in twos.

I feel ripped off.

I can confirm that they do indeed come in packs of 3 here.

Also on halloween I bought a pack of 90 and ate them over the course of two weeks. I was very ill.

Don't we get candy that the States doesn't? My Aunt who lives in Colorado says they don't have Coffee Crisp, or any candy from that company.

Yes, but they likewise get candy/snacks we don't as well.

Being Canadian, I know this isn't a good way to start a thread.
Great first post, I haven't seen a better one.

OT: I like Canada, even though I've never been there. I heard the people up there are really nice and friendly. A lot better then in America. And I'd love the weather up there. I can't stand hot weather....

Again with the wheather thing...really it's been scorching hot accross a lot of the country for the past few weeks, our seasons go to both extremes.

You don't really hear about Canada that much these days.
Or ever. We don't do much, we just sit around and try to fix our own problems. On top of this, people often don't see the difference between us and the U.S.A.
Is it true that Canadian foods use a lot of Mayonnaise?

I don't think so...I mean the only thing I can think of that uses mayonnaise off the top of my head is sandwiches. And they are certainly not a "Canadian food".

I'm also Canadian, and in reply to the first post...Well, I basically have a huge amount of bias here but I like living here.

The great thing about being Canadian is that there's a wide cultural diversity and for some odd reason Canada has a lot of positive stereotypes, at least compared to the U.S. Again, I find it odd since, well, we're pretty similar.

It's these positive stereotypes that I hope will come in handy when I travel around the world someday. I hear (keyword: hear) that people in general are more welcoming of Canadians. Don't know why.

Hmm...It's pretty crazy how high our taxes are compared to the U.S, but I have no problems with it due to our apparently awesome health care (Note: I know little about health care systems and do not bother much with politics. I just know that I, and many others richer and poorer than me, have access to nice benefits. I may not be aware of these but I'm eternally grateful to be able to keep good health).

Where I live, it's also pretty quiet and peaceful. I love it. Relaxing and all.

Ah, but the best part about Canada though? It houses some nice game industry giants, and seems to be growing fast. My favourite would be Bioware. I'm also a fan of Relic too.

I was born here, it's a lovely place, in my opinion. Any one else ever hear the I Am Canadian speech from Joe Canadian (I think that was his name)? The rest of the Canucks probably have, but have the other countries? When I heard it for the first time I got chills.
We have an awesome accent. I've been told, however, that Canadians talk very fast. Which puzzles me, because we seem to speak at a very moderate rate. Compared to other countries, do we talk fast?

Anywhere else in Ontario is boring (including where I live, Ottawa).
Yeah, I live in London, and it isn't that great. I've been to Ottawa before, though. I think it's a nice place. I especially like Byward Market. I wish I could have gotten a Beaver Tail when I was there. I hear they are a really tasty treat similar, yet better, to the Elephant Ear. That true?

Also, the USA gets a lot of pop flavours that we don't get in Canada as well. And chip flavours. But I feel sorry for Americans who can only eat peanut butter cups in packages of two. It just doesn't seem right.

In regards to mayonnaise, I've actually seen it more prevalent in the states. But thats not a health related comment. You want to try unhealthy food, you should try French Canadian cooking. If you really have a death wish, just eat some poutine. Fries, cheese curds, and gravy = delicious.

Also, if you think Tim Hortons Donuts are good, you should have tried them a decade ago. they used to be all made fresh at the stores, but now they are distributed from a central warehouse somewhere and are not as good.

They get a lot of chip flavours we don't for instance. Like I remember back years ago they had this kind of cheetos that was only in the states and they were really good lol.

Canada gives us maple syrup and The New Pornographers. If you need further examples of why it's the greatest country in the world, read the first sentence again.

...but seriously, it always seems like a nice place. I've got family over there and Toronto is top of the list of places I'd like to settle if ever I leave the UK.
