Spandex is not necessarily cheesy.

Check out the Black Ranger-

As for the Cap, I have to say that I'm missing the wings.

Wait, is this the movie that is supposed to have musical numbers in it?

If so, I don't really see why people have so much hope in it.

I'm still a bit fuzzy to the logic of the higher-ups spending money to create a super-soldier, only to not actually use him in combat because he might be killed, so instead they put him in the USO. If that were the case, why'd they even bother making him a super-soldier? Bits like that make me a little nervous about how good the movie is going to be.
I think they were trying to make more, but the other tests failed. They don't wanna lose their one success until they figure out what made Rogers different. At least, that's what I figure.

For the most part I like it, but I'm not too big on the helmet look of, well, the helmet. Those straps and the chin pad, I think it should be all one piece. Apart from that minor complaint, Cap's costume is actually translated pretty well, and I've seen another view of it, when viewed from the front it looks like a dead on ringer for ultimate Cap's suit.

Marvel's recent movies have been pretty good; I think this is largely due to the fact that the comic company is producing the movies themselves now instead of letting outsiders dictate what changes should be made in order to appeal to as many people as possible. From what I've read about Spider-Man 3, that was almost precisely what happened and Sam Raimi wasn't exactly thrilled with the changes he was forced to make.

I'm relatively excited about the film, but I'm not going to really cast judgment until I at least see a trailer.

Looks good to me! The only part I don't like is the belt. Sure it looks cool, but what does he need to carry in there?

When it comes to red, blue, a star, and a round bullseye shield, I have to say they did the best they possibly could.

Still don't think it looks good, but it could have looked so much worse.

I suppose it's related to how they lost their ability to mass-produce the super-soldiers shortly after Cap was "made". They wanted an army, and doubt the effectiveness of a single soldier.

I have no problems with the costume, even if it is missing the wings on the cap. But I'm not really favoring the USO bit. The point of the costume was that it was suppose to boost the morale of U.S. soldiers while on the battlefield, but I can see that the film makers didn't want to go that route.

No fish looking armor. Me likes. He could have been better with the wings ON though.

But...why -captain america-? he looks so stupid, and there's many other, more interesting characters to make movies of...is it just a cultural thing, is that why I don't get it?

It looks good, that's for sure.

I'm still apprehensive about the song and dance bit though.

Meh, it looks okay. I just hope the costume department doesn't go crazy with those suspender/bandoleer things and give him pockets everywhere. There's already too many superhero costumes with tons of pointless pockets. Batman is the only one to get away with it because it's limited to his utility belt and gadgets; unless he's actually carrying stuff in them, don't give his costume a ton of pockets.
