This is such silly. I'm pretty Yahtzee once mentioned that both Umbrella corporations and the Captain Planet villians are the same, in that they are evil, for the sake of being evil.

None of their plans make any logical sense, or benefit them business wise, it's just plain old "suck it nature". Oh boy, I cannot wait to see the villians of this movie.

"Remember, kids, saving the environment is too big a job to be accomplished without super-powers!"

Add one more to the list of ancient licenses that no one was clamoring to see brought back, but are somehow getting resurrected anyway.

But yeah, I have to agree with the consensus: if this isn't Ted Turner painted up blue, shouting "CAPTAIN PLANEEEET!" and kicking people in the nuts for 90 minutes, it's going to suck... and it's going to suck hard.
Ok, this post just made my day, thank you very much Strife! :D

OT: Goddamnit Cartoon Network, why the frak are you doing this? Why don't you bring back some of your older (better) shows and just take this idea out to the woods and bury it. I'm sorry to sound like a whiny manchild but gods...

A goodhearted but jerk-minded American, a Russian know-it-all, a Chinese easy-goer, a stern African (seriously, where exactly in Africa, I don't know, they never made much clear) and a native-descendant Brazilian softie. Those were the Planeteers.

So expect the movie to have 5 whiny American jerks whining throughout 90% of the movie and captain planet only showing up in the last 5 minutes.

No......please don't. Don't make this movie. The cartoon was stupid and is still stupid. Nobody will see this movie. Adults today will not see this movie because of nostalgia and more than likely will not take their kids either because the entire message was delivered stupidly. This was one of the worst "save the environment" cartoons that came around in the 90's. It was an over glorified public service announcement with no substance.

Please......no. Save your money. You can make better profits with other nostalgic material.

Wow this is stupid beyond words. Yeah I watched Captain Planet as a kid too and liked it then, but as an adult it's easy to see that it was nothing more than a vehicle for Ted Turner to preach environmentalism to kids through heavy-handed metaphors with all the subtlety of an atom bomb. On top of that people are finally starting to realize that the whole "global warming" scare was based on data that was sketchy at best and was simply a way to get ignorant people to blow their money on the most asinine things like "carbon credits." Trust me, I love the natural world too and do my part to recycle and keep my area clean but there is a limit people.

This is just another example of the film industry's desperate attempt to make money off of anything that can be labeled "nostalgic" because they're simply out of ideas. At least we can hope it's hilariously bad; I'm thinking Tommy Wiseau should direct, Gaia could even have a line like "YOU'RE TEARING ME APART WHEELER!"

why for the love of all that is good and holy, would ANYONE think this movie is a good idea?
the multicultural pals that make up the Planeteers are a grab bag of various stereotypes of their various race gender and nationality. Captain Planet and his inbred retard brother Captain pollution are such massive douches, to say nothing of the "Rouges Gallery" so many idiotic jackasses that couldn't just Kill these dumbass kids despite numerous opportunities, god I'm surprised Gaia didn't just say Fuck it and detonated the earths core to obliterate humanity

Why can't they ever bring back Awesome titles from the 80's and 90's?

I would sacrifice a Virgin AND a Prostitute to see: Pirate of Dark Water, Silverhawks, Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors, M.A.S.K, Reboot(with better graphics) lots more come to mind

There's no way a Captain Planet movie would suck right? Maybe Ted Turner should be Captain Planet and go apeshit on everyone like in Robot Chicken.
Indeed, that is something I would watch. Captain Planet The Movie:CAPTAIN PLANET!!!

That is the only way I would watch a live action Captain Planet movie.

when is Cartoon Network going to remember that they make cartoons, not live action garbage and cartoons taken from Canada?

NO! GOD DAMN IT NO! WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?!?

Why the fuck can't this shitty nonsensical show just die already! It's plots were dumb, the characters added for multiculturalist bullshit, it personifiyed everything wrong with 90's enviromental hysteria with it's heavy handed message and it had the Silver Surfers' gay red underwear sporting brother with a green fucking mohawk!

Damn you Ted Turner and CURSE YOU CAPTAIN PLANET!!!!!

If this show gets a reboot or a movie I will burn down a bunch of forests, dump chemicals into lakes and oceans and pay the extreamist rebels in Africa to burn all the condoms entering the country to spread AIDS. I will do everything in my power to counter-act the damn shows message!

While I think that the environment is extremely important, and I hope this movie is a huge success, though I do not believe that it will be.

I can't imagine this turning out any way other than either So Bad It's Good [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SoBadItsGood?from=Main.ptitlethsq3mffp09i] or (much more likely) So Bad It's Horrible. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DarthWiki/Ptitlew9bltta3dv6n]
