Yes, I'm so desentified that I can't look at a syringe piercing my skin when I have a flu/allergy shot or I have my blood drawn.

What a bunch of ignorant fascists.
My sister has that problem - she can look at people who have been eviscerated, but the mere glimpse of a needle makes her shield her eyes in terror. Not needles going into her mind you, needles going into anyone, whether in real life or in television programs or films.

It's frankly kind of weird that blood and guts are (mostly) fine but simple devices wielded by health care professionals are objects of gut-wrenching terror.
More people are more afraid of the dentist than death
same with public speaking

Yes, because destroying something is going to make people stop buying/partaking in it. Right? Right?

Christ almighty, these people are on the intelligence level of the fools who say that ''homosexuality is a CHOICE''. I'm serious.

By their logic, I should be walking towards-KILL RAPE MAIM-the electric chair right now. What a bunch of-DESTROY CRUSH BLOOD-simpletons.

Sometimes, I just can't get outraged over people rambling about videogame violence.

This again?

Well, I suppose it can't really be helped. What gets me is the blatant disregard for mention of television or movies. Games aren't the only violent medium, they're just the panic button topic, at the moment.

True. I've never had a desire to become a farmer despite the hours I've logged on Harvest Moon.

Also folks, please, let's not bring up the Nazi's. Can we just go one thread about this without Hitler and his party?

Kids playing a violent video game is bad: Okay, makes sense, right?

Some grown up buying a $50-60 dollar video game just to smash it up is okay: No so much, but a great lesson in the value of a dollar!

Well, I must admit I'm on their side. This is a primary school, with 'primary' implying 11 and younger. Now, if this was a secondary school it'd be different, but I am 100% opposed to 11-and-unders playing GTA and the like.
Out of interest, how many under 11s in the Cayman islands do you think actually play these games? If it was in America, it'd be different, but how many motormouthed 12 year olds have you met online from the Cayman islands?

Exactly

Then you probably wont like the fact that I played and watch my friends (who were the same age as me) play GTA:San Andreas, Halo, Halo 2,and brute force when we were all 9,10,11,and 12.
I saw my first porn at 11 and I've never once bragged about it. Of course, it was pretty traumatizing though because it was made in the 80's and all of the women had bigger hair than curves and only one was attractive at all and one even resembled my aunt.

honestly, the second our generation replaces the current one, this whole video game debate goes out the window. violent video games dont make violent children, parents who dont even monitor at all what their kids are doing are the cause. i wouldnt let my child play any sort of crazy killing sport game. probobly crash bandicoot. the original ones. badass. then when theyre like 14, any game they want. for their money of course.

Hmm how to describe this without connecting it to the Nazi party... Bonfire of the Vanities!

Next we'll be burning Romeo and Juliet because it's too violent with all that murder and stabbing. How could they teach such violence to children?! DEATH TO VIOLENCE!

They don't realise that they are breaking the law by doing this? We don't own the games, we pay liscensing fees to play them, the parent companies might have something to say about the destruction of THEIR property.

Didn't Germany do something similar in the 30's
FYI, the Nazis only burned the books written by Jewish authors, if they burned games made only by Jewish companies then it would be comprable.
