Damn it, double post. Sorry.

Might as well use it to predict that, whenever the game comes out, there are going to be disproportionate numbers of Malkavians and Tzimisce, and only women will play Nosferatu. ;P

Say what? ... It's not April 1st, is it? *checks* It isn't!

I hadn't heard about this, and I'm very excited about it, and I bet my friends and fellow pen&paper RPG players will be as well.

Now, what to play when the game actually hits the market? Should I indulge my scheming nature and go with the Tremere, or live out my cruel side as a Tzimisce? Or maybe an Assamite, I like them, too. Choices, choices...

Hm if they get the PVP Gameplay right, i would change my mind on never touching a mmo again. I really like the (old)World of Darkness setting and CCP could provide a mature player base for making it work. It's good to see some progress here, because after last years teaser you haven't heard much about it.

But i have my concerns about the griefing/outlaw debate here, there is alot of potential of abusing such a function...

I'm all for getting the cheaters/glitchers kicked out, possibly ruining the natural food chain in PVP is however a total turnoff for me. And most of us know that alot of (casual) players aren't really aware why they get crushed in pvp, they just start to whine and complain.

Starting out as a mortal? This means if they added other supernaturals as playable that without changing that formula you could potentially play as a Mage, a Demon (My personal favorite), a ghost (though that's by far the most unlikely) and poooossibly a changeling. Maybe I've forgotten something, but I'm pretty sure the other supernaturals aren't mortal from the start. Even if they don't add any of these, I hope they have the Earthbound (The most powerful Demons summoned to Earth and bound within objects several hundred years before the gates of the Abyss was broken. They are then driven mad by being locked inside of the objects rather than possessing the body of a human and are known to form cults around themselves).

Is anyone really going to want to play as a normal human? That kind of defeats the purpose of playing a WoD game...

It would be nice if they added in some other supernaturals as playable characters. Perhaps we'll see them in future expansions if the game does well.

You know, half the fun of playing a mortal is the getting bitten part =P

O.O This for real? OhmygodOhmygodOhmygod!!

I'm definitely looking forward to this. First MMO I've actually become interested in. Please don't make it suck CCP. :D
Worry not. CCP never make MMOs suck. Though they do make them complex @_@

I'm looking forward to this. It'd be nice to try an MMO that doesn't follow the fantasy RPG clichés.

It probably goes without saying but just in case, any RPG fans who haven't yet played Bloodlines really, REALLY needs to play Bloodlines. There's a fan patch that takes care of the buginess (and that still gets regular updates) and it's really one of the finest, most original RPGs ever created. Even if you're not familiar with the VtM or aren't a huge fan of vampires - both of which described me pretty accurately pre-Bloodlines - this is a game that will blow you away. It's just that damned good. If CCP can bring a similar experience to an MMO, holy shit, look OUT.

Bit of a shame that it's only focussing on Vampire: The Masquerade though...very narrow scope considering how deep the world gets.
Bit of a narrow scope? You do realise how many damn books about the Masquerade alone there are? Before you get into Pentex, the Shadowlands, Hunters, Changelings, Wraiths, Mummys, the Penumbra etc.

Sabbat and Camarilla alone you're looking at 14 different books. Not including the True Brujah, Blood Brothers, Cappadocians etc.
I mean 'narrow scope' as a relative term. The original Vampire line by itself runs very deep, but it's still a fraction of the universe as a whole. Vampire rightfully gets a lot of attention, but the other lines get left in the dark when it comes to games (well, maybe not Hunter).

It was always the problem with the World of Darkness though (Especially Samuel Haight), if you actually include all the source books, there's no damn normal humans left. :)

I'm still kinda sore on the concept of vampires, never really was a fan anyway. But I guess I could follow it to find out how playable it could be?
Play Bloodlines. It is literally the most amazing thing ever. This man speaks the truth.
