I have 3D glasses on and the dog isn't 3d at all.... I say sirs, I've been had!

OT: I'm 'meh' for 3D gaming. I feel as strongly towards it as I would towards Project Natal. I would be glad if they made it just to show off progress, but once a game gets a new feature that feature over rides every other important feature vital to a good game. E.g. Wii games when they came out became all about "wave your wand muthaf***er" and then games will be produced for the sole purpose of showing off that feature and then all us console classic fan boys are going to go ape shit.

supposedly the mediocre avatar game looks really cool in 3d.
I don't think the 3D tech they use is some sort of miracle; that game's fugly.

MS said it right. 3d will never be popular with current tech but with the next gen. And with next gen 3d I mean a television that doesn't need you to wear glasses to see 3d.

Those that think this is a long way you are wrong as they are currently in use already. One of this television is in NY brooklyn for ads.

I hate 3D for the very reason that stupid image reminds me of, it hurts my eyes and brain.

Fuck 3D for a laugh, besides, having images "leap out" of the screen at you would give more fuel to the anti-game, anti-movie, anti-fun people, so I don't support it.

It's no big news that Microsoft fails to realize emerging trends. But with so many $$$ it doesn't matter to them. If they miss out, they simply buy themselves in by acquiering one of the leading companies in the field.

Never expected it to nor did I care.

3D TVs are a way off too and I doubt we'll see them till after OLED TVs, which could go on for 3-5 years.

Question:

Why would I want 3D games? I've never seen a movie in which the 3D gimmick actually added to the experience other than as a brief, "oooh that's sort of neat" deal, and more usually the best the people in charge can do with it is to have the actors wave things in your face in a glaringly pointless fashion.

When developers can regularly bring me games with excellent story and gameplay, two things many video game companies haven't mastered yet, then they can take time away from that to bring me totally pointless but kinda sorta slightly neat gimmicks like 3D games. I'm not holding my breath though.

I was looking at sony's site today and there was a huge add for there new 3D glases and tv. They where also saying they will make streaming, blu-rays and PS3GAMES in 3D. And now i read this article about Microsoft not giving 3D a chance. Didn't Microsoft say Iphones will suck and nobody will buy them ?

I dont need 3D gameing or tv right now. they have yet to make comfertable 3D glasses, especialy for people who already wear glasses. I'll support it when you dont need the glasses. Go Holograms!

Uncharted in 3D that has a nice ring to it eh?
My good man, you have just given me a nerd-gasm at the thought of that possibility.

I like the idea of 3D gaming, at least as an option for people who can have 3D of course. It could definitely be some new areas to tread in the future.

Okay im off to find my old school 3D glasses just to see that dog

GODDAMN YOU GREG.

Also 3D doesn't mean hologram its basically just a better looking depth perception so you feel like you are actually there instead of just looking at a 2D screen with some objects smaller then others
