Changing my name (Yes I'm serious)

Always wondered, if you change your name to something utterly ridiculous because you were young and foolish and then regretted it later at life, are there procedures you can take to reverse the name change later? Are there limits on the amount of times you can change your name? Like a cool-down period or something?

It varies depending on your country's and state's laws.

In NSW, Australia you can change your name no more than once every 90 days.

Essentially you wouldn't really be reversing a name change as much as you would be changing it back (So records would show you changed your name from X to Y and then you changed your name from Y to Z - Even if X and Z were the same name)

Prince Vegeta definitely means the most to me but in all honesty I actually like Mithos Yggdrasill the most but it doesn't seem to be getting many votes XP

I can undetstand wanting to change your name if you were named something idiotic by your parents who thought they were being clever or even if you just have familiy issues and want to distance yourself or something like that.

But changing your name to something silly because YOU think you're being clever/quirky..... I doubt you will read this post and I'm far from alone in saying this anyway but don't do this.

But if you cant decide on a name for yourself then I'd say you are not committed enough to the idea and will end up regretting it in a few years.

If you are going to change your name choose a cool name like Trent or something. Unusual but not spazzy (no offence to your taste in names or spazs, plus i used it as an adjective not a noun so no one is allowed to get offended.)

If Vegeta means the most to you, by all means go for it. Having people you've yet to meet in person call you Prince might be kind of annoying though. I'd make Vegeta the first name, and swap the last name to "Princeofallsaiyans". Then you can introduce yourself with just the first name, as well as having both names work toward making that reference. or make Prince your middle name and the last name Ofallsaiyans.

Oh those aren't choices. Well for the benefit of your future relationships and finding a job Siefer Almasy actually sounds like a name. Yeah, I'll go with Siefer. The sound of it is fucking sweet. Are you sure you don't want to spell it "Seifer"? It looks like a German name (almost. Maybe the Japanese version of a German name) and in German, when E and I go walking, the last one does the talking so Seifer would be the right

Edit: after thinking about the dumb names people give their kids lately, your names aren't that stupid in comparison. If I had to choose between hiring a "Braden" and hiring a "Darth Cruxis" I'd choose the latter (At least Darth wouldn't give you red wavy lines spell check lines)

This is something I've wanted to do for years, I have had well over 200 names imagined and written down and over time I have landed on these 5, it isn't that I'm not committed, it's more that I'm hoping the opinions of people with similar interests in video games and anime will help give me a clearer choice.

Back when I was 17 and first wanted to change my name, it was to something completely normal, I wanted to keep my first name but change my last to 'Lightman' and I even copped flak for that simple, normal choice from my real life friends and family.

If I'm going to get shit either way then going all out is my preferable choice.

I wouldn't recommend changing your name to Yggdrasill due to the spelling (I just realised that the name has a slightly different spelling compared to the 'Tree of Life') and pronunciation. I would also not go for Prince Vegeta if you don't like Prince as a first name as it will be used and it is horrible. If you're sure about changing your name to one of them my vote would be:

1. Legato Kaiba
2. Siefer Almasy

Not sure if troll...but if you're in any way serious about this I'd say save the crazy for the middle name as it's rather inconsequential and you can still have it be the nickname you use around friends or whatever, or at least pick a reference to something that sounds like an actual name. I think with naming yourself something like Seifer McKaiba you cross a certain point where you are letting your interests wholly define you rather than simply be a part of you and your personality, which ultimately only serves make you come across as shallow and ostentatious. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Just leave it be.

Honestly I'd do a couple off test runs before you do anything legal, pick a name & introduce yourself as such to a couple random strangers & see what the reaction is. If you run into any asshats like me & introduce yourself as Prince Vegeta, I would probably come back with something like "So you're vegetable royalty or something?". Just please, PLEASE, PLEASE don't pick Prince Vegeta. For one, people will forever be asking you, (most likely in a catty voice), "Prince of what then?" Yes they will. You know they will. Even people who know you will. And how pretentious does it look to change your first name to Prince! Bad enough when parents force it onto children. No, please, anything but that.

As for suggestions on which one to pick I can't help you. I think they're all awful; Prince Vegeta is just the worst one (personal opinion disclaimer). But I wish you luck in narrowing down the choices, and I hope you don't regret it. Peace!
