Sorry but... Fluttershy is worst pony. She does have her moments but for the most part she's just a doormat. I just don't find the shy, quiet, vulnerable female archetype likeable at all.
Aw, why are you hating on Trixie? Sure she was annoying, but she wasn't THAT annoying (at least to me).Shadowstar38 said:The Great and Powerful Trixie. Fuck you.
I agree that she was.. well, she wasn't great in FFVII but I actually liked her in Crisis Core.JeffBergGold said:Aeris (FFVII)
I found her to have no real positive personality traits, yet she's idolized by fans for no particular reason, to where 2 of my friends say she's their favorite character. I dont even get it.EquestrianGeneral said:Aw, why are you hating on Trixie? Sure she was annoying, but she wasn't THAT annoying (at least to me).Shadowstar38 said:The Great and Powerful Trixie. So true, but to be honest if we did that then it'd still be flooded with people answering posts with "Omg why do you like that character they suck".shrekfan246 said:Just once, can't we have an "X you love that everyone else hates" thread? Just once? No? We have to keep up the endless cycle of negativity here on The Escapist? Sheesh, I'm surprised Game Grumps isn't hosted here.
It was annoying wasn't it, she actually devolves as the story progresses.Colour-Scientist said:I don't know if people actually love her but Katniss from The Hunger Games, I haven't actually seen the movie yet but in the second and third books she's really irritating and quite badly written.
One minute she's the fearless heroine, next she hates everything, then she's afraid, then she's selfless but selfish at the same time. Her personality totally flip-flops and all she does is complain. I get that she's probably trying to portray a troubled teenager flung into a difficult situation but Katniss has these big epiphany moments, only to completely forget about them two pages later. It makes her really unlikable.
Really? If that were the case then he'd have told everybody about the fact that Cersei's children were born of incest, he'd have told the truth about Jon Snow, and wouldn't (as far as we know) have had an affair to father him.LadyTiamat said:Eddard Stark, he has nooooo flexibility in his moral reasoning. Ok most of the time on this kind of thread I say how we shouldn't do this kind of thing but, I have to agree with this guy. I didn't much care for the lore in World of Warcraft anyway but, just getting told how awesome this one, well I will just say it, bad charter is doesn't inspire confidence. Look if that's the best wow has to offer count me under the 9 million people who don't read the quest text.Promethax said:Sylvanas Windrunner from Warcraft.
People gush about how complex she is, yet she is completely one-dimensional.
People praise how well written she is, yet she flip-flops from whiney emo git to zombie hitler with the drop of a hat.
People speak of how well developed her character is. Of course, the only thing developed about her is her body.
Captcha: "goosebumps", still better written than Sylvanas.
Could have. But anytime anyone ever does that, the hardcore segment of the Brony community seems to go out of its way to badger the person with claims like "you're just a hater whose never watched it!" If the community as a whole were more mature about their general response to people who simply say "Hey, I don't like it." then the response of people who don't like it wouldn't have to be preemptive.Dtox333 said:You know, you could have just described your dislike of the characters, without going on a little tirade directed at us.
Agree with you on all of them except harry/ron and Gordon Freeman. Well Ron/Harry i don't know anything about because i'm not a Harry Potter fan and well Gordon Freeman is so great because his personality is what we want it to be, It would only hurt the game if it went to Cut-Scene-O-Vision and show us Gordon Freeman shaking his fist yelling "BLASPHEMY, Thou evil aliens shall pay for this". But yes i see where you are coming from people do tent to go nust over a character the themself created, So if somebody says "Gordon Freeman is awesome!!!" then you don't know if he's talking about your "Kind hearted father figure-Freeman" or his "Hey let's throw glass at people at stab their dog-Freeman".Shadowstar38 said:Spiderman. Seriously. Every story with the guy is melodramatic as all hell.
You think Ron is bad but, yeah, fuck Harry too.
The Great and Powerful Trixie. Fuck you.
Raphiel from Tmnt. He acts like a complete jackass all the time.
Master Chief has zero personality.
Marcus Fenix is bland as hell. Pretty much everyone in Gears except for Braid and Cole.
Gorden Freeman. This one just baffels me, as he hasnt spoken once, yet everyone loves the character. You could play as Alex in 3 and nothing would change.
My gosh this list got crazy long.
I think its because he is the most manly nerd to ever live. Loves science, can swing a crowbar fast enough and hard enough to break a skull easily and finally he is what you want him to be. You want him to be serial killer who fucking hates his co-workers you can do that, or a manipulator who uses people to get to certain places then kill them.Shadowstar38 said:Gorden Freeman. If anyone is curious why I specifically said below that this Community does it well is because we have to take preemptive measures to not get the hounds of hell on us. Just saying.Tuesday Night Fever said:Could have. So no, I have no remorse for my wording. Get a thicker skin, and, y'know... actually participate in the topic rather than making yourself look like exactly the type of person I was being preemptive about.
In a way, I think that's just it. We haven't seen anything other than her boastful, arrogant side. Thus, many fans have wondered what she really is like, which I believe is what gives her the following that she has in the fandom.Shadowstar38 said:I found her to have no real positive personality traits, yet she's idolized by fans for no particular reason, to where 2 of my friends say she's their favorite character. Lydia always makes me twitch. Like, when you ask to trade things, when she says "I am sworn to carry your burdens" she sounds extremely sarcastic and rude. And I'm all "***** if you're not happy GTFO and I'll get someone nicer to follow me around. Like Farkas or Vilkas 8|"snappydog said:I agree that she was.. well, she wasn't great in FFVII but I actually liked her in Crisis Core.JeffBergGold said:Aeris (FFVII)
OT: I think Lydia from Skyrim's already been said but I just never got on with her, she doesn't really have a personality of her own other than 'I will follow you whatever you do.'
Thing is, he starts out pretty well. But then Mexico comes along and he casually shoves all his principles out of the door.Casual Shinji said:John Marston from Red Dead Redemption.
The guy is the biggest fucking doormat in the world of gaming. He's all bark no bite.
