One name that I have always given my male characters is Martimus, but only if he is a mage or uses magic prominently. I just love the way it flows off of my tongue 
I used to use Exile quite a bit, but not all the time. I do sometimes have running themes, tho: in Exile (yes, my namesake) the 6th guy in the group usually has some reference to the word "Konk", because the first time I played it with any deal of success he was just a thug with a club and a high level of assassination.
So yeah, running themes, rather than names I abuse. I actually prefer to change the names every time.

Syranna (Melee/Rogue types)
Seiriah (Catch-all)
Those are my three catch-all names I use in most every game. Anything aside from those depends upon the game itself and what sort of character I am making. Fallout 3 for example, I tend to stick to real names, albeit still more obscure ones that most people wouldn't know.

I mainly use "Gorlok" for most of my characters.
Only exception was with KOTOR, in which my character was named Ghost.

Emma, Simon and Tiberius! =D Tiberius is exceptionally underrated as a name and it saddens me... =(
