...What?

How impossibly foolish to criminalize something totally harmless like that. It wasn't even connected in the slightest to an even fictional sexual attraction to children, much less had anything to do with anything that happened in actual reality!

When laws deviate from the harm principle, justice comes to harm...
This happened, my friend, because my country (I think this took place in America) has started to follow the letter, rather than the spirit of the law (which I must admit is what True Neutral governments are supposed to be. But while the governmment itself may be True Neutral, the people in it sure as hell aren't).
actually, that'd be Lawful Neutral.

OT: this is bullcrap, unless there's a lot more to the story than what was presented.
also, personally i feel that to a limited degree, the Harm Principle doesn't apply to child porn. hence, hentai and western animation that portray sex with children should still be punishable. why? because if they are designed to titillate with depictions of sex with children, it means that people with those inclinations are having fuel thrown on their fires. they should be seeking help, not digging themselves further into their depravity.
You do realize you are advocating thought crime, right? Being sexually attracted to children is not a crime. People should only be punished for their actions, not for their thoughts or opinions. To ban certain thoughts is pure fascism (or tyranny, or something either way it's not good).
It's Orwellian. :/

But... really, it truly is like thoughtcrime. In his description, I should be punished for harming no one. :/ It is basically telling me what to do with my life just because he is uncomfortable. I do not feel as if I need help, because there is nothing to help. :/

By the way, about to call the guy.
Tell me how it goes... If it goes well I'll call him up and tell him off...

EDIT: Nevermind I saw your last message...<.<

Fascism is a socio-economic philosophy/practice, not a social practice. This sort of bullying by the justice system is tyrannical though and should be frowned upon. It's a shame so many people have been swayed by the age-old argument of "Think of the Children"

Ok... I'm going to ask my sister if I can borrow her phone.

Has anyone called yet? Who answers? Is it an answering machine, random person, the guy himself? I need to know. I choke up in these kind of situations. :/

If no one responds to me within 10 minutes, I'm going to wing it. (O_O)

Going to tell him a few things... respectfully, of course. I am a man of honor.
Please tell us all how it goes.
I shall. :/

Any other advice from any other Anons?
Other than don't flip out at him can't think of anything.
Can do.

Has anyone called yet so I know what to expect? I'm somewhat terrified.
Don't know. I think it's around midnight in Michigan so you'll probably get a message.
Yep, called, got a message. :(

Damn time differences...
Were you able to leave a message?
Sadly, no. Just a recording telling me to call back during business hours. :/

also, to clarify, from what i understand, what this guy did shouldn't classify as porn at all, so my above thoughts on child porn would not apply to him.
But... who are you to judge/tell me what I do with my life as long as no harm is brought to others?

What you suggest is straight out of 1984.

Child porn charges were filed against a 21 year old for editing a video to make it look like he was singing a dirty song to a buch of first graders as a comedy bit. He faces 20 years in prison and 25 years on the sex offender with "producing child porn" on his record.

This is pretty fucking scary; arrested on CHILD PORN charges for editing a video to make it SEEM like 6 year olds were listening to his song? And put on the sex offender list? And people are claiming he should go to jail for something that didn't happen?

This is the shit you get when you start putting limits on personal liberties. You get a comedian in prison for NOT... NOT exposing kids to explicit lyrics, and you get dense assholes making him appear to be a child corrupting monster. This is just a different form of the "Cartoon porn should be illegal" argument

The Man Show actually had a child approach women in a sketch where he was asking them for sex. MADTV and SNL have had a lot of sketches that made it appear kids where exposed to sexual things. Hell the video I uploaded a few days ago was entirely about a joke involving a soda mascot that "Grapes kids in the mouth"

That is ridiculous. i can understand both of the sides but on one side i think the fact they are trying to charge him is ridiculous. He did something and it has been going on for years so why is this going on? I don't care about the freedom of speech but this is just pants on head retarded.

What impact could this video he made have? He sang a normal song there and spliced it together to make a gag video. boy do i hate people.

Should the people who make these be arrested?
if your referring to the people that created barney then yes but if you are talking about the people that edited that video with the beeps then no because thats just fucking funny
lol well the person who edited it made it seem like he was saying sexual things around children. Hows it any different?
It is different in the sense... that it isn't. :p

Where's the petition because this the most asinine thing I've ever heard. What's next I'm gonna go to jail for shooting a gun and then I edit it to make it seem like a person died.
Actually if you edited it to look like you kill a guy that wasn't in on the joke it could be taken as a very serious death threat. If said person happens to be someone's child, you would be fortunate to get arrested before the parents found you. Just clearing up your comment though, I whole-heartedly agree that this pedo charge is absolutely insane.

Well... tell that to the pricks that put a target on my face saying "just a desire to see justice served".

Feelsfuckedupbrah.jpg

And, it's a CP charge, not a Pedophile charge. You cannot arrest someone for just being a Pedophile. That would fall into thoughtcrime.

Just thought I'd clear that up. :/

Under their rather broad application of the law, I think they should. It would be hypocritical if they didn't.

What MP did was actually much "worse". The only thing in that film that was edited in was the word "cock." Every bit of that piece was preformed live, including the children's!

I have lost all faith in the US legal system. This guy needs a fucking hard slap to the head, not 20 years of prison. Here we are in the US, damn near the whole government about to go broke and yet we're all gonna have to pay to keep this fucker in prison when he could be out in the real world being a "productive" citizen? Morons...

That... was awesome.

But... one thing...

There were Lolis nekkid from the stomach up. (O_O)

How does that fly today? When you can be arrested for taking photos of your child bathing?

EDIT: What I mean is, how does that clip still fly today because it is a somewhat old movie.

Why do Americans hate freedom so much ?
GOOD QUESTION! Why is it that so many Americans seem to want, with a passion to give up their freedoms, or to hand them over to corporations, or other organizations?(government, religions, etc.)

My theory is this: The price of freedom is eternal vigilance && Americans are the laziest group of people on the planet -> Americans cannot afford the costs of freedom and need to be rid of it.

DISCLAIMER: the term "Americans" is not used as its defined.

The war of our generation will be against laziness. If we lose, Asian culture will assimilate ours.

Yeah this is probably low content, but I feel this quote need praise & reiterating.
