I have a question. How did the soldier even expect to get up to the ship in the first place, in time?
Great trailer though, hardly extended.

Mostly because people will be drawn in by the 30 seconds of emotion in the trailer, but they'll stay for the ridiculous fun. If Halo was actually like this all the time, I don't think it'd be very popular. People would just stick to COD or Gears, who already do grittier experiences perfectly well. Not G. Why do the commercials have to be so much more touching then the actual games?
Well technicaly Master Chief isn't the last spartan but if you are refering to the games and no the books then he seems like he is but really isnt.John Funk said:-Statute of limitations on these things, pal.Stubee said:Thanks dickhole. We havent all read the books you know. I knew Reach fell but the spartans could of survived.John Funk said:Ever since the Battle of Reach was first mentioned in the instruction manual to Halo: Combat Evolved, we've known how it ended: Reach falls. When the player joins Noble Team next week, they're joining a lost cause - the planet falls, the Covenant win, and the Spartans die.
A-grade reporting there buddy
-You know in the games that Chief is the last Spartan.
-If you haven't played a Halo game before, why are you interested in Reach?
-Calling staff "dickhole" is a no-no.
-Could have.
Basically like this then?kintaris said:This trailer has very cleverly taken our gameplay experiences and made it seem to mean more than it really does. And we all fantasise that our battles on Halo mean something every time we jump in.
Absolutely. These are some of the best trailers I've ever seen for anything, and definitely the greatest videogame adverts since the hilarious 'life's short, play more' ad for the original Xbox. They really are perfectly crafted and, most importantly, emphasise the fact that Reach has an excellent single player story which multiplayer addicts would be fools to overlook (not that I won't spend the next 4 months playing this online whilst ignoring my uni work)Jaredin said:So epic. Had a chill down my spine...now the release just needs to get here!

It takes a special chemistry of players to really reach that pinnacle moment of awesome in a game. Too many lack the imagination or drive to really immerse themselves. Not G. Ivingname said:Wow...

Indeed, as much as I love both series, I am always slightly disappointing that they never feel as atmospheric or deep when it comes to the actual games.Evilsanta said:Damn it! They are just like the Gears of wars trailers. Just want me to buy them and play them.
I actually disagree entirely. I think that a trailer that is representative of some portion of a game - in this case, an emotion and the sense that you're being asked to fight a losing battle - is all well and dandy.Tankichi said:Cool Commercial but once again. WTF DOES IT SAY ABOUT THE GAME!?. Nothing. I don't care how amazing a commercial is for a game it should show gameplay of the game. If people buy it on these commercials alone then they are just sheep who will buy anything the masses buy because its shiny. Of course this could be said about every game ever lol.
Well, it does actually say quite a lot about the game. Considering we already know what the actual game looks like (that's what we have screenshots and gameplay footage for after all), this gives them the opportunity to do something a bit more dramatic with the trailer. It's easy to just see the Halo games as all brightly coloured laser fire zipping around all over the place, but trailers like these help to add a bit more reality to the situation. While I don't think this one works quite as well as the ODST live action trailer, it's still a worthy addition. Gameplay is all well and fine, but it doesn't always make the best advert. Especially considering the frequency with which games ads appear on cinema screens these days. While some games fare better than others, when displayed on the large screen of your local cinema, a snappily designed trailer like this will be better equipped to hold its own alongside the film trailers than some gameplay footage will.Tankichi said:Cool Commercial but once again.
