Most western countries argue along similar lines. Only, instead of percentages, they use more technical terms and "better" studies. For some the culprit is the sexual stuff in games, while for others it's violence, verbal, drug abuse...

We shouldn't climb too high a horse.

I believe it. Why? Cuz if I lived in China, and had no freedoms to speak of, and stuck in my country for all eternalty, ya bet violent games would be an escapt, and an inspiration to unconsciencely act out my hatred towards the government.

What am I saying.

I believe a "unbiased" newsource such as China's government run press as much as I believe the National Equirer. Actually I beleive the rag papers more, because mass molestation of cows by aliens is closer to the truth than China's newgroup.

What a joke.

Yes China must be right because you can trust all of their tests and statistics to be 100% and not at all fabricated or false.

I actually agree with the Chinese on this one, if only on the virtue that most people are gamers in one way or another.

I'm not inclined to believe anything the Chinese government would say. They just want to keep the masses under control.

Because the Chinese government is ever so reliable in matters such as...wait, in any matters.

Hm. I'm sure one could come up with an equally ridiculous assumption based on something along the lines that 67% of doctors have played a video game, ergo gamers = surgeons.

Well its only reasonable that they place restrictions on leisure activities like computer gaming. After-all if people are too busy having 'fun' they can't be down in the coal mines or in the factories making our laptops!

Heres a thought, although i dont have any actual data to back it up (lazyness ftw), if 90% of resident in china were gamers, that means that gamers are statistically less violent the others. Also, remember this is news from china, i dont know about you but i dont trust the news or china.

72% of US are gamers and I would expect Chinese would be around the same.

72% US are gamers ≈ Chinese percentage of gamers -> Their claim is redundant.

This is a conspiracy, I swear - blaming games so hard for violence that eventually gamers will kill someone.

Don't you see? Obviously the Illuminati were banned from Runescape! This is their revenge!

or maybe it is the freemasons but they seem more like a guild wars oriented group

Check out these awesome Communist statistics people!
Well it's hardly the Chinese government's fault. If everyone would just quit having so much damn fun and go back to toiling in the fields, all of the world's problems would be over.

Tetris causes violent teenagers to throw concrete blocks off of bridges at the unsuspecting innocents below. And the power pills and the ghosts in Pac-Man? DRUGS AND THE OCCULT.

I can just imagine how they got this data too. "Have you ever played a video game?" Well there you go! Sort of reminds of an ass backwards study that tried linking second hand smoke to breast cancer. They did it without linking it to "first-hand" smoking.
I think Mark twain was attributed this little gem. "Lies, damn lies, and statistics."
Edit: Seems like nonsense to me. This study is a joke.

100% of people who committed violent crimes were air breathers, thus air breathing promotes violent crimes.

Another case of flawed logic.
