Ok. And we all know that the Chinese government has always been such a bastion of uncensored truth and facts. Obviously, this must be true. In other news, pork bearing mammals have begun to take flight.

To paraphrase Charles Manson at one of his parole hearings:

[small]...maybe Charles Manson isn't the best choice to portray gamers. But I'm lazy and don't want to retype this post, so....[/small]

IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!

China are obviously trying to make games seem bad and then ban them in an attempt to get more of their people to work! So the economy increases and the government gets more money! Those sneaky bastards!

*cough*

OT: seriously though thats some straight up BullSh!t, thier a bunch of controlling pinko assholes looking to blame someone for the problems that they seem to be having. They just happen to have settled on gamers. Good thing I live in the US

You can say that 80% of murderers are gamers, but you can't say that 80% of gamers are murderers. Doesn't prove anything I'm afraid.

that should really make you thinking
Does that mean that the other 20% are robots?

Trust me - I smell it more than a dog smells its own arse (or another dogs arse - whatever is most).
I was about to say "I smell BS"

Oh China you are always good for a laugh. I'm surprised they don't just come out and ban video games if they think they're such a problem.
Then they'd have a revolution on there hands.

What would all those Violent Murderers do if they didn't have videogames?

Oh I know!

Kill people.

How'd they get teenage pregnancy out of gaming? I'm a gamer. Yet I am not getting laid.

"comrade, this years figures are in: %80 of our prison population were incarcerated for cultural normality infringement while playing videogames."
"mmm, the western media will have a field day. How did the prisoners react?"
"They were quite unruly and offended"
"Would you say they were inclined to violence?"
"yes"
"excellent. Call up the GAPP, comrade."

Anyway, this just screams out false results.
Ha, I saw that too. Being fair, I'm sure that acronym turns out differently in Mandarin.

Yes because China is renowned for its accurate new broadcasts and not for forging whatever information it wants.

Not even people in China believe everything the Chinese government says and this story smells rank with political fact skewing. It's more interesting to note a sudden surge in Chinese wrath towards video games. I assume it's because the government wants to kill gaming and thus, in their hopeful minds, make their children more studious then they already are and outsmart the political power out of US hands with there fifth rate education(something they are already doing, but why stop where you're beating a guy, why not curbstomp him to). It's too bad for China though I wish there government could busy itself with something more useful, like improving the lives of it's citizens.

The communist propaganda machine is right, all the Chinese gamers should be restricted to traditional communist activities; Hating anyone with more freedoms than you, living in fear of being branded an enemy of the state, and running over peaceful demonstrators in a tank.
And some people say American right-wingers are craziest political force in the world.

Well, what can i say? Totalitarianism at it's finest.

Its pretty simple actually...

To the Chinese leadership , online games and social networks allow people to reach out and communicate, this allows people to organise and share opinions which eventually allow people to arrange for large scale protests, and upraising... thats why the leadership is 'demonising' online games and social networking sites.

BTW Western goverments use the 'demonising' method a lot as well, ever noted how Hollywood 'bad manz' seem to consist of whoever the US are mad at ?
Dont be too suprised if we get a slew of movies portraying a innocent-wouldnt-hurt-a-fly bright eyed youngster boot up a video game and get corrupted, and end up slaughtering a neighbourhood... or a young girl turns tramp becaused she dared to join Facebook.
