"' And then that led into a lot more questions that, quite frankly, I was not ready to talk to my 6-year-old about.""
Pumpkin, a woman and a woman sometimes love each other the same way a man and a woman love each other. It's perfectly normal. Now go and play ok?
OMFG IT WAS SO HARD!

Fundamentalists are mentally retarded. The bottom line is, children really don't give a fuck about gay and lesbians unless their parents indoctrinate them about how "homosexuality is eval!" and shit like that.

I do agree.. maybe these things shouldn't be in childrens game, BUT then agian maybe there are some HARDCORE life players out there and maybe some of them are *gasp* lesbiens... I know right? Shun the word.

Still being a christian doesn't have everything to do with the subject, I'd rather not explain to a six year old (if i had one) how mommies marry other mommies and sometimes you can have two daddies. From a parental point of view it makes sense but what the hell HAIL SATAN!

It's not that easy really, i mean yeah you could say that but at that age children are still natrually curious and can't make sense of things like an adult can. It'd be better to tell these things to them when they reach double digits so atleast they have a better understand of the world and can thing more for themselves.

The same way a man and a woman find love, the same way a woman and a woman and a man and a man can find love. My aunt told me that when I was 8th. I just plain didn't give a crap.

This baffles me.
Not the Christian woman who disagrees with Gay Marriage, but all of you people here.

You people are preaching about having open minds and acceptance, and in the same freakin' sentence your calling religious zealots incompetent and idiotic for stating an opinion.
The hippocracy is killing me.

Yes, those believe this are probably close minded people, but you don't have to stoop to their level and use this as an excuse to criticize an entire group of people who may not all agree with this.

I for one disagree with woman but it's her children and her life. I don't see why so many people are telling her to shut up and attacking her views so violently. When people spoke out about games like RE4/RE5 being "racist" people laughed/no one cared. But because there are Christians involved in this, everyone wants them to burn and the opinions of a some gets labeled as the opinions of every Christian who has ever lived.

"Christians Attack "Gay Agenda" in PC Game"?

The article itself says this was ONE woman who posted on ONE website.

How is this suddenly all of Christianity? I'm sure if I called on of my friends who is a Christian he wouldn't know what the hell this is.

This is no different than someone going over to 4chan and saying.

"Everyone on the internet is a sick pedophile.
Find out more on page 3."

This is fucking retarded, pardon my language.

There's no more of a 'homosexual agenda' in Life than there is a 'pro-Muslim' message in CHESS. Just because some quasi-important minor exploit in a children's board game allows same-sex marriage DOESN'T mean they're endorsing it or even suggesting it!

Allowing is not the same as endorsing, dearie!

This woman clearly has serious frakking problems; as if the voices in her head weren't enough, now they're telling her to plant her ass firmly on the moral high ground and launch scathing rhetoric against board games.

Her argument is as flimsy as her grasp on reality. All we can do is firmly ignore her. All of us, together, just pay her absolutely no attention until the embarassment finally sets in and she realizes how far she's stooped.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, YOU ARE AN IDIOT YOU STUPID MORON! Your daughter is just intelligent, and if you are a homophobe, then to hell with you, you intolerant...

Gah. I think I can stop wasting my words, thick skulls cannot be penetrated by any force. Except for a physical one.
Well... to be honest, we really don't know. I mean, has anyone honestly ever tried contacting these people who show this type of stupidity?
I doubt it. Mostly just complaints.
I do find this really funny though.

Umm you are aware that homosexuality is taboo in Buddhism too? By Buddhism I mean actual Buddhism, not hippie-believe-what-you-want Buddhism. They just aren't as vocal about it.
That's what I'm talking about.

They don't go around shouting "THIS IS EVIL!! HOMOSEXUALITY!! SAAATAAN!!" just because their children are more intelligent than they are.

We need another crusade, then hopefully all these morons would get wiped out. Damn christians are so annoying.
Don't generalize. Atheists have idiots, too.
yes....but we tend to hide our idiots, and not let them out in public like the Christians do.
But the "Gay Agenda" thing is starting to be annoying. When will they realize that they are not a new species, but just humans with a different point of view. Should we start denying right to born again Christians due to the evil "Born again Agenda"?, no because that would not only be horrible to punish someone based on what they believe. see the connections homophobes?

"Gay Agenda"?

If it's a desire by gay people to have people respect the fact that they exist, then how can one oppose that?
Fanatics of any religion are not bound by logic or decency, but by their delusional interpretations of whatever scripture to which they subscribe.

I'm just thankful that Christianity is less dangerous than Islam. If this woman were a Muslim she would have probably suicide-bombed Hasbro's headquarters by now.

(Applauds.) I've seriously considered Buddhism. I don't dislike christians, but Buddhists generally don't get in a state about ridiculous little things like this.
In hindsight, maybe thats cos most buddhists aren't overprotective mothers.
Why do you think I joined? :p

in the words of Graham from loadingreadyrun, "oh good, i thought this was just going to be about christians being unreasonable."

seriously? if you must know, beastiality does not include being homosexual. its not a sin.
i am pro gay rights because saying that a gay person cant marry who they truely love is barbaric. shame on you society for not allowing people who love each other to marry because they are the same gender.

She probably posted a comment that was inappropriate in how she asked the question or brought up the matter, personally I couldn't give two figs, since we should have moved on from this discrimination already, homophobes got prop 8 be happy damn it, the daughter was merely seeing if that choice would work or not, I have never played the game but can only assume it does not ask if your a male or female?

Ugh.... I'm almost feeling ashamed to be Christian. I swear that some of these people think that they have to force their life style on everyone else if they want it or not. I really hate it when people like this forge a stupid stereotype over the christian religions. Myself, I know what I believe, and I don't care what you believe, but I will respect your religious (or not) choice.

*facepalming and sighing loudly* Seriously. Why do they have to teach kids that marrying the same sex? That just leads to hate or phobia of homosexuals. The day I get kids, I will tell them "You may marry whomever you want when you're grown up", cause that is the only right thing to do. The game is more right than the parent here. That kid is smart for asking, and I'd answer "Why shouldn't you?".

Paul talked about men "not ought to lie with men as a man does with a woman" or some such. Technically, I don't remember Jesus ever mentioning it. It was Paul, if I'm not mistaken.

Either way, though, this whole issue isn't even ABOUT homosexuality... It's about perceived homosexuality in an old board game. No need to start up a religious debate off of this one, just write it off to the stupidity of one moron parent.

Don't judge me based on the actions of somebody I've never met who claims to represent my faith. If there's one thing we don't need another of here, it's a religious flaming thread. I'm going to laugh at her idiocy and move on.
Paul said "And Man shall not lay with Man, as he would lay with a woman...", which, to my eyes, leaves a variety of other positions available. Doggy, spooning, Jackhammer, whatever turns your crank, I suppose. As far as the 'no sex without intention of procreation', I'm struggling to recall if it was considered a cardinal sin to have sex for fun, since it could be construed as either Lust or Gluttony, depending on your point of view. It's also potentially be a venal sin, under the pretense of Fornication, but I think that specifically requires that you NOT be married at all.

Other than that, God did wipe Sodom off the map, like a unwanted booger, for the 'wanton, sinful lives that they permitted within the town' (not a direct quote), so I suppose most Christians use that as evidence that God hates Fags. Let's remember, though, than God killed Onan for pulling out and busting his nut on the ground, rather than succesfully impregnating this widow of his recently deceased brother. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onan

I still wonder about this whole 'Homosexual Agenda' thing that the right-wing fundamentalist Christian groups keep yammering about. What exactly does it entail? Are they trying to make men wear pastels, talk with a breathy lisp, and watch HGTV? Will women have to wear checkered chambray shirts, ride Harleys and stop shaving their legs? If it's just a matter of wanting to prevent gay marriage, I'm really confused, because I'd have thought they'd want EVERYONE to be miserable (married).

It'd even help the tax base, since child-less couples pay more in taxes than those with children, right?

The best way to deal with these Christian Fundamentalists is to simply ignore them. Besides, the game doesn't force you to be gay. It just has an option for gay marriage.

I think I have to agree with the mother, you don't want to get kids all confused with gay marriage
You're kidding, right? And what do you mean, "confused"? Do think kids are gonna start having second thoughts about their own sexuality because a game says that there are more "options"?
Oh right 6 year olds should know all about sex, drugs and rock and roll. C'mon there is a place and a time to have the talk. It shouldn't be forced upon a parent by a video game that didn't warn them. It has nothing to do with the parent's "homophobic" or "non homophobic" views. And why is it that if anyone disagrees with the gay lifestyle they are automatically homophobic? Why is it they are entitled to thier feelings but those who disagree aren't? Oh I don't want to explain homosexuality to my 6 year old. That must mean I am anti gay. Oh I also don't want to talk about the birds and the bees with her either. I guess that means I am anti procreation as well.
