So, I have a question for the resident Christians (or otherwise informed):

A big part of the role of the "Jesus of Nazareth" figure was to tell the people the correct path through life, in order to reach "Heaven" or whatever, right? (Sorry if this comes off as disrespectful in any way, but I don't feel comfortable with stating these things as facts.)

Anyway, yes, my point is... the teachings of "Jesus" are supposed to be the foundation of the various forms of Christianity, yes?

So, did "Jesus" ever say anything about homosexuality being a bad thing, or are people just paying attention to the Old Testament or other random inserts for some reason?

Well, regardless... anyone who hates homosexuals is "going to Hell" anyway, since hatred itself was a "sin" last time I studied the "Jesus" part of the history of Christianity.
Jesus never said anything in the Bible about homosexuals being bad. It's never said they go to Hell, Hell isn't even mentioned once throughout the whole book. There are only 1 or 2 mentions of gays in the Bible.

These people are just using religion as an excuse to be hateful and bigoted.

"Gay Agenda"?

If it's a desire by gay people to have people respect the fact that they exist, then how can one oppose that?

If it's the belief that there are thousands of gays out there, waiting for you, preparing to enact plan rainbow or something, that person needs to seek counseling. Immediately.

That's ridiculous seriously you call that the pushing of 'homosexual agenda' once again religion picks a fight where it is not needed.

She makes it sound like the game has murder in it or something, also what is the "gay agenda" people need to realize gays aren't trying to take over the world or make a doomsday device they're trying to get equal rights. If gay marriage shouldn't be taught to children then neither sound heterosexual marriage.

This is like Mass Effect's unneeded controversy all over again *sigh*
A little tolerance would be nice (however insulting I find the term 'tolerance' to be).
It's not like they didn't allow a heterosexual marriage to happen in the game.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, YOU ARE AN IDIOT YOU STUPID MORON! Your daughter is just intelligent, and if you are a homophobe, then to hell with you, you intolerant...

Gah. I think I can stop wasting my words, thick skulls cannot be penetrated by any force. Except for a physical one.
I love you. Indeed, people just...make me sick at times....I mean, really, stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Are you gay? No. Is anyone forcing you to be gay? No. Can your daughter pick the man to sit next to her in the life car? Yes. It's called equal representation. Get over it! It's not pushing an agenda, it's just there! Urrrgghhh

Satan's instrument of distruction!?! I almost wet myself laughing. You cannot be serious?? After all the violence in video games depicting murder and stealing you can seriously throw THAT around? I am a catholic as well, but I also have READ the bible and know that all sin is equal in the eyes of god, so all that swearing and murdering in games is just as "wrong" as being gay if you're going the christian route with it all, but we play violent games, so that statement is totally bogus.

Not to be picky, but I'm sure that homosexuality is mentioned in the New Testament (albeit not by Jesus himself, but his followers). We study the Bible in school, and I definitely remember the phrase "man lying with another man" (or something of that kind), and in a negative connotation.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I'll try to settle the above before I speak my opinion among the others.

For one, our friend Jesus says nothing about homosexual behavior.
Two, the Jewish Prophets also say nothing.
Three, Only 6 to seven Bible verses speak anything of homosexuality. Not a one of these refer to homosexuality as it is understood in the modern world, either.

Heck, if there is anything Christians should rant about it would be divorce, a practice that is condemned in both testaments.

I think the verse RebelRising is refering to might be one in Leviticus that says things such as "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female, it is an abomination." This is mentioned again in a different way in the same book if I recall. But, don't be hasty my friends. Let us also remember what else Leviticus prohibits: Working on Sabbath (Hurray for Truett Cathy!), Playing with a pig skin (Oh noes, Footballz!), Having a round haircut (My Beatles! No!), Tattoos (Biker Gangs beware!), Eating pork as well as shellfish (Farewell New Orleans and New York), and getting your fortune (The Bible: Running Fortune Cookie Manufacturers and Mediums out of business since Year 0+).

We also must look at the word abomination or toebah (correct me if I'm wrong). To be an abomination did not mean you broke a law. It meant you were untraditional, which is (what I believe is) what toebah means.

I would continue but I'd have to go into what some radical Christians (yes I did call them radical) believe on the cause of homosexuality (IT'S GENETIC, NOT CHOICE!) as well as how God gave his only Son to save everyone, not just a select group.

Now for my viewpoint. When a mother, not just a Christian mother, any mother, is asked about the subject of homosexuality, answer it. To those who say that children are not ready to be "troubled" with the idea of homosexuality, when are they ready for the subject of heterosexuality? When are they ready for the subject of sexuality itself? If they ask it means they're ready. Sit 'em down with a cookie and talk. Good parenting is not, finding a way around the problem, it's speaking, communication with your child. Don't shield them from the world or when they grow up they'll be troubled because no one took the time to talk with them.

The game shows homosexuality as an option, it's not pushing an agenda secretly. My Lord, if they were to see Fable 2 offering gay marriage I'm sure a many would go into a Bible-beating coma. I wonder what they would say to protagonist Niko Bellic murdering a gay man in a diner in GTA 4 and yet "pushing" the "Straight Agenda" by only allowing female girlfriends.

I am not a homosexual (or atleast I have not found out yet in all the years of my life) but I am a strong believe in "Hate the sin, love the sinner" kind of thing. Even if you believe homosexuality is a sin you should not go out and bash them or make it unlawful for them to have the same rights as you do with marriage *angry glare at America*.

As for the whole truth in the source "World Net Daily" if you follow the link you'll find their side on the matter is about as subtle as a segment of Fox News. They even put quotations around the word family when it refers to a lesbian couple with children. They have articles titled "The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitist, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised As Freedom" and "The Gay Agenda(There's that phrase again!): It's Dividing the Family, the Church, and a Nation". Also note an ad for a book titled "You Can Lead An Atheist to Evidence But You Can't Make Him Think", a Chemical Detox Pad, and an Ann Coulter book. Wow. Just Wow. I'll leave it with saying I wouldn't trust this source like I didn't trust the 'Free Candy' van at the age of 8.

This post is long, ain't it... Well I had a lot to say. I'll wrap up here. The woman is a parent with an obvious hateful heart who shields her children from a new thing called reality. I support the game for including the choice of homosexuality. Don't do drugs and drink in moderation. Goodnight.

I turned my back on Christianity to become Pagan for reasons such as this article. There's nothing wrong with people choosing a same-sexed partner. If it's what they want and they're happy with that, let them be.

As for the six year old, I think she's a lot smarter than her mother.

You're right, but that is one of the very few instances. I'm just trying to say the whole bible isn't about telling people to hate gay people.

Wow, that's interesting stuff that, suspiciously enough, my teachers have never gotten around to telling us about. Also, you have earned my respect for being such an open-minded Christian individual; it's always good to get that kind of communication around here.
