Cars under a certain gas mileage should be illegal, stupid people should be illegal, drugs not so much as banning it creates more trouble.
Can we do that with cars too? They pollute way more than any smoker!PercyBoleyn said:I'm perfectly fine with making cigarette smoking "illegal" in public as long as the government uses the tax revenew from cigarettes to build smoking designated areas. That way, smokers can still smoke in public but they'd be segregated from non smokers.
We banned smoking in any public building, as in a bilding with access to the public. Things feel so much cleaner now, when you go abroad you notice just how awful it is when people smoke in an enclosed area.Matthew94 said:I think smoking them outside should be curbed, or at least reduced in public areas, but not banned.
I dislike when I go to somewhere like a hospital or shopping centre and I have to walk through the cloud of smoke caused by all the smokers.
Ok, while here it is illegal for children to consume alcohol.Hazy992 said:Kids drinking isn't illegal (at least it's not here). It's selling them the alcohol in the first place. Not selling a minor alcohol is a lot easier than not selling a pregnant woman alcohol.Helmholtz Watson said:This is the part where I bring up your previous comment about pregnant women drinking at home. How do you stop kids form stealing their parent alcohol when they are not looking?Hazy992 said:We're just going around in circles here. Not selling alcohol to minors isn't comparable. It is vastly easier to stop minors from buying alcohol then it would be a pregnant woman.
The only time people should attack smokers is when the douchey ones decide to blow the smoke right in your face. Then the ************ deserves a good right hook to the mouth.Shoggoth2588 said:I don't smoke, I don't plan to smoke but I still get sick of people attacking smokers. People smoke outside in public places because there is no inside for them to legally smoke in anymore after all (in the US anyway). Bring back smoking sections in bars and restaurants and you'll find less people loitering outside of places by the doorways. If you're in a public park though, or any other public, outdoor area, I don't see any problem in people smoking.
Cars are not a necessity for the populace. For a select few who can drive sanely maybe but not for the masses who constantly abuse it.PercyBoleyn said:Cars are a "necessity", cigarettes are not. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to compromise.ZippyDSMlee said:Can we do that with cars too? They pollute way more than any smoker!
Yes I am aware of all of that, what's your point though? Homosexuality used to be illegal too, lookie I can make arbitrary points as well. Guess that should be illegal too actually, putting things in your ass can be causing harm to oneself if you don't do it properly.solemnwar said:-snip-
The same argument could be made for Marijuana. If you want to ban Marijuana (which has no permanent harmful effects), then you should ban Cigs too because then you're "Telling people how to live their life".Daystar Clarion said:I dislike cigarettes as much as anyone, but who am I to tell people how to live their lives?
Oh my god this. So, so much. Once of my housemates smokes, which is her own business. But she frequently does it in the house, and when I come back home the stink is ridiculous. Genuinely overpowering. And it gets into everything and is so hard to get out, and I loathe it >.<Phasmal said:I dont like smoking, people who smoke... stink. To put it bluntly. You don't notice it when you're around smoke but when you're not it hits you like a wall of gross.

I did nothing to invite your scorn so please stop being such an unlike-able pedant. You cant tell people they cant do something entirely because it inconveniences you, I dont know where you go because I dont see smokers around much and when I do they tend to be pretty considerate/avoidable by getting out of the way. I dont know why Im responding since your being pretty unpleasant.Matthew94 said:We didn't ban literacy though.Stripes said:We banned smoking in any public building, as in a bilding with access to the public. OP, how does something being natural or unnatural change hoow good/bad it is? Also how does Weed help people, aside from medicinal uses? (genuine question).
I know smoking inside is banned, I mean outside. If you need to get into one of these buildings the smokers just crowd around the entrance so you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get into the building.
Because I'm a very angry little man that's why. But no, it isn't illegal, least not in the UK, illegal to assist though.solemnwar said:Elate said:Snip of rage.
... why are you attacking me? I was just pointing out that it was (is?) illegal to off yourself... In fact, if you scroll up, there's a post of me saying that we shouldn't make this shit illegal.
edit: I accidentally a word. Fixed now.
Pretty much this. I really don't care what people put into their bodies, I only ask that none of it goes into me.PercyBoleyn said:I'm perfectly fine with making cigarette smoking "illegal" in public as long as the government uses the tax revenew from cigarettes to build smoking designated areas. I know how to fix that! Hugs! HUGS FOR EVERYONE!Elate said:Because I'm a very angry little man that's why. But no, it isn't illegal, least not in the UK, illegal to assist though.solemnwar said:Elate said:Snip of rage.

Free speech and guns cause a lot of trouble too.Link55 said:Weed is less harmful than cigarettes. At least weed help people in a way. That and it's natural unlike the thousands of chemicals in the average cigarette. And in what way does a cigarette help anybody. If you know a way please tell me. But they should just ban them without hesitation.
