CoD Weapon Ideas?

There been a lot of net moaning in regards to whether the next CoD would be (too)futuristic, I think IW are taking the best approach they can being totally contemporary, there are numerous firearms around today that could be classed as futuristic when really they're just state-of-the-art! I think the P90 was the most outlandish weapon in CoD4 and that was invented in the late 80's!

They should add the FN2000.

Actually it's not called anything, it's probably going to be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. See, I can be petty and abrupt too.

Well, not only has Infinity Wards community manager called the game by that title, but its the only helpful thing I could contribute to this terrible disscussion idea.

Also, I've just noticed there is already a thread about what people would like to see added to this game. What the freaking hell man, I thought I had something original thought up :|

All you did was take one of the most frequently asked forum questions ever and add Call of Duty.

And yet more people find it interesting enough to reply and discuss than agree with you. I know, it's difficult to admit being an arsehole, but there's no need for desperate insults. I didn't realise you were such a forum veteran, I suppose I should envy you. Oh no, wait, exactly the opposite. Plus if this discussion is so terrible, why bother trying so hard to contribute?

The problem is that CoD is a realistic game. So your not asking us to make some weapons for CoD, your asking us to mention a gun that already excists. None of them can create portals or shoot lemons so I'm not intrested.

I'm gonna say an auto shotgun, several heavy machineguns, grenades that are practically invisible and explode after roughly 3 milliseconds, as well as insta-kill sniper rifles, and a desert eagle with which you can snipe enemies across a map.

Uhhh ok cause snipers want to haul around another 10-15 pounds of gear in thier two man team when they can just as easily steady thier weapon on a log, large rock, mound of dirt....etc.

the little stabilisers that swing down from the bottom of a sniper weighs 15 pounds? Sorry, this is what I meant, not a literal tripod. I didn't know what it was called.

That's a bipod. Tripods have 3 feet, hence the name. They're a stationary mount for GPMGs and HMGs.

Is this along the lines of what you were thinking...I think it probably is:

Notice the two legs? That would make it a BIpod. That paticular model adds about 0.75 lbs to a rifle. Not really signifcant to me but I know people who actually do snipering for a living and some like them, some don't and don't see the point of having one as seeing as they can do the same thing with the items I mentioned before.

I apologise for being too drunk to remember the difference between a bipod and a tripod.

Also, screw realism, its a game that is quite frankly arcade when in multiplayer. Bipods as an unlockable weapon addon would make a nice gameplay addition - something you can put onto your rifle to help steady it.

I think they should keep the weapons they have now, but allow you to customise them alot more. I mean there's at least enough space on a gun to have a grenade launcher and a scope. I also think the ACOG should be removed from snipers and replaced with a double zoom function or something like in RBSV.
