I've never bought a game new.

Thus, I've pretty much boycotted the gaming industry as a whole.

...

Yeah, I'm going to hell.

McDonalds and Nestle.
Nestle?

What'd they do? o_O
Don't even get me f'ing started on Nestle... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestle_boycott
I knew someone would say Nestle. I don't want to be a troll or anything, but keep in mind that it's big companies that are always targeted by stuff like that. It's the only reason the media gets involved, just saying. But I agree with the McDonalds boycott. It's terrible for you, and it doesn't even taste good.

Any part of "Yum! brands" because of the horrific way they treat their animals, that includes Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell (not that there's any Taco Bells in the UK, but if there were I would still boycott them :p).

A very short list of good developers
in my mind they have to prove to me why i should by the game. if they can prove it is a good game and they are not playing sides when they make it i will buy it and if not then i would not want to buy it
i am a person that thinks all games should be on all consoles, not because there is some game i really want but i have the wrong console i just think that it would put the big "console war" to bed once and for all. after that happens it will be better for all of us.

I don't boycott any company, it's useless... All remember the big "MW2 Boycott"?
Eventually, you will be tempted to purchase some product from said company. And like 88chaz88 said; if you don't like the game (or product) then don't buy that game/product.

Also, Hi :) Long time lurker, first time poster (I think...).

I am kind of boycotting Apple. I will never buy one of Apple's products because I can get the same type of products cheaper and they work just as well as the products Apple makes.

I agree with Corpse XxX, I'm not boycotting Apple but I know I will NEVER own one of their stupidly expensive and easy to break products.
Expensive yes, easy to break... my ipods been through a lot of drops and been stepped on a fair few times, it is very dented from a 3kg mallet hitting it whilst I climbed a cliff in Scotland. it still works relatively well.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like Mac stuff. I have a buddy that bought one for $2k and brags about it all the time. Also I have an uncle that preaches about it to anyone that will listen. I think it's a waste of money and you have to dedicate everything you have to them so it will all be compatible. Oh well. That's the only company I refuse to buy stuff from.

I'm boycotting absolutely nothing because unless there's a major coordinated public boycot consisting of hundreds or even thousands of people, these companies won't even notice the loss. One person refusing to use a service or buy from a company isn't boycotting, it's sulking.
I agree. Plus I like stuff to much to really care about what the company is doing. Call me selfish if you will but I just don't care.

I don't like wearing branded clothing because they charge more for the bloody logo. Not really a boycott, though, cause I'd buy the shirt anyway if it was cheap enough. My beef is really with shoes that cost £40 because it has "Vans" or something on it, when I can go to a charity shop and find the same shoes with no brand on it for about £5.

I also buy less games because they insist on holding part of the games hostage and calling them "DLC", then charging half or the price of the original game for it. It's like buying a movie and being told that you have to pay another £10 to see the last 20 minutes.

Project 10-Dollar also is gradually encouraging me to pirate, and the urge is getting strong at this point.

Activison, for the obvious reasons. it annoys me how most of my favorite developers have started to go with them, i mean come on, even EA is a better choice, and thats saying something.

I think it's safe to assume all intelligent people are boycotting or at least are acting as privateers against Activision.

That doesn't really count as a boycott though does it? Unless half the forum is currently boycotting durex.

Yeah except it doesn't work that way, without the console war you get one company able to charge whatever the hell it likes and no competitors to keep it in line. Monopolies aren't good for anyone. Plus what would people on the internet complain about if there was no console war?

Microsoft, although it is inevitable, since I like PC games. But I buy as little as possible and try to use Linux with Wine. Nah, who am I kidding...

I now officially boycot Nvidia, for having better drivers than ATI only because they delete every function that is not performance related just when I get fond of them. They blocked TV output while the port is still physically on the card and once had a nice 3D anaglyph glasses conversion. I found out ATI has horrid drivers because they have a lot of extra functions (those mentioned before) straight out of the box. It's a bit like pick your poison for me, but I tend to choose tinkering fun over performance.
