Haha, I couldn't have read the news as I would only be five at the time, but yes, I do know how it went.

Wikipedia is to thank for that.
lol, damn now i feel old, thanks! Everyone should thank wikipedia every now and then.
indeed, thats what i just used to find out about Woodstock "99. sounds like a regular hoot.

anyway my first concert was Reading Festival 07. the line up was awesome, the atmosphere was awesome. it was just generally great. i also went 08 and am going this year too.
although technically that is a festival. my first (and only) concert was Kaiser chiefs at elland road last year in june. that was also good.

I went to the last Grateful Dead concert. I wasn't born yet, but my mom went there, and she was pregnant. So that was my first concert.

Mine was Bowling OFr Soup at the Lincoln Engine shed. It was all fine apart form the last song of the encore where I was kicked out for crowd surfing. I didnt even wan tot crowd surf, these guys just started picking people up and pushing them along. It was pretty fun and the concert ended the second I got out, so I didnt get caught in the leaving crush.
All us crowd surfers were shown a side door which ended up in a small side alley and we had an excellent laugh about what had just happened. Then one by one my friends turned up, having just been kicked out for the same thing.

Ozzfest 2000 was my first concert, it was sick. It was my first real pit experience, with Mudvayne at the helm. I got straight messed up. It was also my first time smoking pot, as I went with my older cousin and there was this huge circle of people just passing it around. It was awesome seeing Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Slipknot, all those guys. Linkin Park was horrible, by the way.

Bullet For My Valentine headlined with Atreyu and Avenged sevenfold playing aswell.
It was spectacular although my favourite concert would have to be Parkway Drive headlining with Suicide silence, The Acacia strain and A day to remember supporting. There were some crazy pits for suicide silence.

Dropkick Murphys at First Avenue in St. Paul. Walked out with only a gash on the side of my head.
I've been told their not that good live. what'd you think of them?

Anyway, it was Flogging Molly. They do a bloody good job at livening up the crowd, and the lead singer is a great guy. I left with a pick and a t-shirt, didn't spend a single dollar.
They are excellent live. What other place in the world can you enjoy getting the shit kicked out of you by a bunch of fat, drunk, shirtless guys?

Sort of OT: I'm going to Metallica in 13 days! Metallica, A7X,Mastodon, Anthrax,Thin Lizzy and Lamb of God.
Not a big fan of Metallica, but all those other bands should rock.

I just got back from seeing Peter Frampton. He's still as good as he was in the 70's and he covered Black Hole Sun which was incredible.

In Flames at a big amusement park in Stockholm. Them on a big stage, and me hanging in a tree, avoiding the moshpits and tight crowd.

My first major concert was in the 2001 Warped Tour, y'know...back when it was worth the money and you actually saw punk bands. My most recent concert, on the other hand, was a few weeks ago when 311 and Ziggly Marley played at the Nissan Pavilion in VA.

My first was Iron Maiden in Oslo on their tour for A Matter Of Life And Death back in '06.

The best was, again, Iron Maiden in Trondheim '08 with their Somewhere Back In Time Tour.

Nine Inch Nails with Jane's Addiction last Wednesday at The 02 Arena. I'm 16 and I got utterly plastered due to a free party at the IndigO2 club outside. It was a very very good night, lots of moshing done by me and I got within 15 feet of the best that is Trent Reznor (he's huge in real life).

I also discovered Jagermeister and other, less mentionable, things.

My first was Dream Theater playing at the Chevrolet Theater (known as the Oakdale then). I was 12. We had cruddy seats. It wasn't a great first concert but all the other ones have made up for it.

My favorite would probably be Progressive Nation 2008 at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. Dream Theater, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me (I didn't like them), and 3 (Didn't get to hear them, we showed up later).
