I've never touched LoTR fiction.
I'm indifferent towards Star Wars as a franchise.
I think Skyrim and Oblivion aren't as good as Morrowind (I started at Skyrim and worked my way back)
I think Fallout 3 is a terrible game.
I don't like Final Fantasy 7 or 8.
I find the sandbox in No more heroes 1 rather charming, if poorly made.
I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT STAR TREK!
I hate the entirety of the RTS genre.
I don't like Ocarina of Time.
I appreciate the NES, but I think it's a garbage system.

and.............................................

I've only ever seen two Ghibli films.

I cannot stand Manga. I love comic books, am currently heavily invested in Dan Slott's run on the Amazing Spider-Man but feel that the art in manga is just really really sloppy and lazy. You should be able to tell what is going on from a visual inspection alone but cannot do that with manga because the art style just always sucks. Also every character looks the same aside from hairstyle.

I have not played a single Legend of Zelda game since Ocarina of Time and have not enjoyed/finished one since a Link to the Past.

I hate the Walking Dead TV show but love the video game.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a terrible series of games and *gasp* always has been. Seriously, when you are moving too fast to possibly react to what is in front of you, it is not "cool" and "edgy" and "90's." It is a glaring design flaw.

Babylon 5 is unwatchable as is the entirety of the non-David Tennant Dr Who

Downton Abbey is the single greatest thing ever found on television since M.A.S.H.

I'm a straight man and am unlikely to ever pick up a yaoi manga, even if I did not hate the entire manga medium in general. I understand that the general fandom mostly consists of heterosexual women, does this have something to do with it?

I don't like Sci-fi in general. So Star Trek and Star Wars do not interest me. I'm also extremely uninterested in Doctor Who. Heck, if there is popular Sci-fi that is a must see/read/play, chances are high I have not seen/read/played it.

I do not like zombies or anything pertaining to them.

I really do not like fan service in anything.

I'm indifferent to Sonic the Hedgehog and Megaman. They just weren't part of my childhood.

My first Zelda game was Wind Waker. My first finished Zelda game was Twilight Princess.

The only Final Fantasy games I've played were XII and XIII.

I'm indifferent to most comic books. Any information I might know about them comes from Linkara.

I think mobile games are a legit forms of gaming.

I'm an Apple fan.

Okay:
- I tried at least three times to play through Chrono Trigger and I just never like it. Meanwhile, I loved Chrono Cross when it came out and played tons of it.

- I really liked Final Fantasy XIII-2. I think Caius was a compelling character that was executed poorly. It's weird, his voice acting and face make him seem robotic and lifeless, but his constant emotional torment drives the whole story. Fun to play, though.

- Never read Game of Thrones or Tolkien. I'm actually afraid of getting into a fantasy mega-series. And yet I love Dune.

- Never read or watched Walking Dead and I don't care. Yeah, I know that people are the real monsters.

- Not really a sin, but I like Star Trek more than Star Wars. People think this is crazy. I like both, sure. But I like that Star Trek is for adults and isn't just a good vs evil hero's journey. Star Wars is pretty good at being what it is, though. And I like Dune more than either one of those.

- I only play top-down Zelda games. I played a little of Twilight Princess, but never made it out of the endless chore-running tutorials. Meanwhile, I got a 3DS to play A Link Between Worlds. So nice.

- Most anime I try to watch just seems like **** to me.

I was an avid Call of Duty fan for the longest time. (Ghosts and BLOPS2 killed it for me)

I loved Halo...all of them except 4. (First, and only, one in the series I ever traded in)

I don't really enjoy comics, but do like some manga.

I've only actually played Final Fantasy VII for an hour. (Not big on turn-based combat in general, with exceptions)

Not at all interested in Star Trek.

I've never actually played Dungeons and Dragons.

I...I don't really have a problem with casual games.

Witcher's combat and potion mechanics completely turned me off of the series.

Annnnnd...other stuff?

Well, it's like this:

You know the old prejudice that gay relationships have a "man" and a "woman"? That's just a stupid prejudice, of course, but in yaoi that's usually how the gay relationsups work. One of the men, the seme, pursues the other one, takes the initiative sexually, and when they're having keistersex, he's the one sticking his thing in the other guy. The other man, the uke, is timid, physically smaller, and behaves in a traditionally feminine way.

I've heard yaoi fangirls ask actual gay people who's the seme and the uke in the relationship.

Secondly, yaoi fandom is all about objectifying gay people. Gay people in yaoi don't exist so we can read a story about what it's actually like to be homosexual in Japan. They only exist so the readers can have a hot couple to squee over and ogle.

Thirdly, the seme often rapes the uke, and the uke always ends up enjoying it. No comment necessary.

I recently sold both my Tomba! games just so I could have a little extra walking around money. I didn't even need it, and I just let go of two amazing PS1 memories. I don't feel terrible about it either.

I leave my discs out all the time, and multiple ones will be out at a time.
I love Steve Blum and Firefly and couldn't get into Cowboy Bebop.
I never saw an entire episode of any Star Trek.
I never saw an entire episode of Dr. Who.
I hate the combat in all Final Fantasy games besides CC, as such, I have never played a FF game to completion.
While I would enjoy it immensely I have never played a tabletop run of VTM.
I get addicted to CoD Black Ops and will play it 8 hours a day for a week before realizing how bullshit multiplayer is and trade it back in.
I think LOTR is a boring franchise and only watched half of the first movie.
I watched twenty minutes of Hitchhiker's Guide and peaced out.
I have, on occasion, cheapened Pokemon by nicknaming a party member inappropriately. (I try to keep it as childlike as when I first picked it up)
While I enjoy the atmosphere and color in both Majora's Mask and Windwaker, I care not for the Zelda series.
While I urge for peace in the console wars and respect PC, Sony, and Nintendo, I am immature enough to hate Microsoft.
One time I used an aimbot for five minutes just to see what it was like.
I skipped over about half of the Marineford arc because I was bored, and never watched the crew train in the two year limbo.
I haven't dug around in Windows 8 to familiarize myself with its inner workings because I just DON'T CARE about learning IT anymore. (And because I had to in Vista because it kept breaking shit and it was a necessity.)
I think Shigeru Miyamoto lost his touch at the end of the Gamecube era.

Well...I guess you can burn me alive before I think of anything else.

I see what you mean. Yeah I can totally see how that would be playing on some pretty terrible stereotypes.

Back when I worked at a call-center, I had a female coworker who was really into that genre and just thought I'd ask.

Not sure what classifies as a nerd sin, but here goes:

I haven't played any tabletop RPGs until this year, and one of those is 5e D&D. And I like it quite a bit. (Not sure where the nerd community as a whole stands on 5e, but I'm just going on Spoony's opinion.)

I think Final Fantasy XIII has redeeming qualities (but overall still sucks).

I've played Deus Ex Human Revolution, and I love cyberpunk, but I've never played the original.

I've never seen most of the Harry Potter movies.

My interest in superheroes extends strictly to only a few of the recent superhero movies. I have no iterest in comic books, aside from some graphic novels and manga, at all.

I genuinely liked Skyward Sword, Star Fox Adventures and Assault, and Shadow the Hedgehog.

I loved Mass Effect 3, and the ending actually DIDN'T totally ruin the entire game for me.

I think the original Star Trek is kind of stupid and dated, and mostly worth watching now for comedic value.

I still like Sonic the Hedgehog, and plan to watch Sonic Boom.

I tried watching one episode of Doctor Who (the new one), thought is was stupid and never went back.

I think the Super Nintendo was superior in every way to the NES.

I think Sword Art Online is only slightly shitty, but then I've only watched a few episodes of it.

I have plans to watch Game of Thrones, but never have gotten around to it yet.

I like vanilla Fallout 3.

That's all I can think of for now, but there are probably more.

* Never played Half-life, not one, nor two. It stands to reason that i could not care less about the vapor-ware known as Half-Life 3.

* I think Star Wars is a decent movie, but it is so unbelievably overrated. The setting really isn't very interesting, nor is the mythology. The characters aren't all that deep, the deepest amount of character development is Han going from rebel without a cause to rebel with a cause. The factions are extremely shallow and their overall political structure and philosophy can be summed up as:
Imperials = be evil and do evil things.
Rebels = be good and do good things.

* Never watched star trek, not a single movie and not a single episode.

* Comic books do not interest me in the slightest, nor any comic book based movies of late. I find them poorly written, especially their chaotic and convoluted continuity. When comparing comic book continuity to novel, movie or videogame continuity, I'd liken it to the difference between a pianist playing a simple but nice melody, and someone hitting random keys as fast as they can. One is fairly simple but well crafted and well designed, the other is ad-libbed, extremely complicated, meaningless and directionless.

* I quite like some anime (Mononoke hime, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle) but other than that i find most of it uninteresting.

I realize this thread is essential a series of lists of nerdy stuff i don't like combined with a bit of criticism and ranting here and there. With everyone's favorite things being criticized and disregarded i predict this will get real contentious real fast.

Do not forgive me, for I have not sinned.
If I like something it is because it is good, and if I do not like something it is because it's bad.
If the nerd hivemind has a problem with this, it is because they are wrong.

Nerd sins
- I don't think I really like the latest season of Dr Who. (though I'll keep watching for awhile longer)
- Watched two episodes of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and didn't love it
- Never got past the first 15 minutes of Game of Thrones the TV show and never read past the first book (I did read all of the first book)
- I think bing is often better than google
- I sold out on writing OSS for a higher paying job writing IP that is commercial
- I think Visual Studio is better than emacs
- I have used multivariable calculus outside of school.

I cannot bring myself to like Dr. Who, or any Star Trek that isn't The Next Generation or Deep Space Nine.

I also can't stand most JRPGs, and I can count the number of animes I love on only one hand.

I'm over 30 and I have never seen the Star Wars trilogy. No real interest in seeing them either, sorry.

I paid full price for FF7: Advent Children and while it was very far from perfect overall I liked it

I do not think pre-orders and DLCs are evil (of course there are exceptions)

I've never played a Metroid game

I've only played about 5% of a Legend of Zelda game

I've pretty much stopped playing Mario games after 3.

I've only played 2 hours of Mass Effect 1 and haven't touch that game or the series ever since

I don't think there's anything wrong with copying a top build for whatever game you're playing, if it helps you have more fun then by all means go ahead.

I don't care about what silly fanservice is in game, just as long as it doesn't affect the game itself. For example that scantly clad sniper in Overwatch who I started seeing everywhere recently? Yeah I don't care about her outfit since anyone that does pay too much attention to that ingame will be dead reaaaally soon.

As long as it doesn't affect my gaming experience I don't care how much you "pay2win".

Ok that's a even 10, think that's enough confessing :p

TV Series: I don't care at all about Doctor Who and for some reason or other I never get around to watch Firefly.

Movies: I have never watched a single Tarantino movie and I was never really blown away by any Pixar film (save for the first half of WALL-E).

Games: FF VIII is my favorite Final Fantasy and I thought Bioshock 2 was better than the original.

Books: I am a fan of fantasy, but I wouldn't touch A Song of Ice and Fire with a standardized ten foot pole. I also thought Ender's Game was a fine concept buried under piles of rubbish writing. Oh, and while Terry Pratchett's writing can sometimes make me smile, I grew to dislike the Discworld series.

Porn: I actually downloaded Rapelay to see what the hubbub was about and I didn't find it terrible, just another dime-a-dozen Japanese eroge revolving around rape and "mind break" except this one had 3D graphics and a minigame.

Comic Books and Manga (picture books) are bad, and whoever still """reads""" them is stuck in the 90s at the latest.

I don't bash everything once it because it becomes popular.

I have never played a Final Fantasy game AND I NEVER. FUCKING. WILL.

I have never played a Legend of Zelda game, though I've been by and large convinced that I probably should.

I hated Matt Smith's run as the Doctor. Not Matt Smith himself, he was great, but there isn't a single episode that I think would be worth re-watching.

I haven't watched Breaking Bad yet... but I will. Someday.
