Red Dead Redemption is a very euphonious title. Red Dead rhymes, and then Redemption is an alliteration on both of the preceding words. Hell, even just RDR sounds good to say.

Bad one: Two Worlds II.

Actually if you knew the story as to why the series is called Final Fantasy it might completely change your mind on that. It's actually pretty cool when you understand it and a very good title name.
Yeah, but don't you think in the 20-odd years since they released the second or third they could have made some kind of announcement saying they were deciding to change the name? And why do people keep buying them? I can't get through half of one of their games past the first without becoming completely and utterly bored.
You underestimate the power of names.
Think of the airline Airtran.
It was at one time called Value Jet.

What happened was, a Value Jet plane crashed, killed like a hundred people, and Value Jet got a bad rep for it. So, they rebranded everything, shook the name Value Jet, and now Airtran is actually doing pretty good now.
Never heard of either so they can't be doing as well as your making them out to be
It was the only example I could think of off the top of my head.
Also, I didn't say they were some booming airline, I said "pretty good." I didn't make them out to be anything more than they were. The point is, which I'm sure you understood, they'd be doing a whole fuck of a lot worse if they stuck by the name, because the name had a negative reputation.

Always thought Left 4 Dead was a cool game name.

As for stupid ones, Probably League of legends. They only called it that so it could be abbreviated to Lol.

The worst title I ever saw for a game was Infinite Undiscovery. What the hell does that even mean?

Is Warlords Battlecry a good or bad title for a game?

Either way... the game itself was awesome.

Good:
Grand Theft Auto - Sounds good, works great as an acronym and fits the game
Ninja Gaiden - Short, sweet and you know what you're getting

Bad:
Dragon Age 2 - Not bad on it's own, but it just seems wrong when you look at it as the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins. Lacks consistency
Halo: Combat Evolved - Love the title Halo. It's perfect. But adding the subtitle Combat Evolved? Really?

Also, I always find the titling of Street Fighter to be worth noting in discussions of bad game titles. "Street Fighter" is a great title, even if you don't always fight on the street in the game. It gives you a mental image of a rough up and comer putting it all on the line in one on one combat. It just works. So why the heck was it changed to "Fighting Street" in North America? This here, this is a regular street. That one over there, though, that's the fighting street. The Street Fighters fight on the Fighting Street. *sigh*

Since I just praised it in another thread, honorable mention to Planescape Torment. An awesome name to an awesome and unique universe.

Good: A Bard's Tale- and indeed the game was a Bards Tale
Bad: SWTOR, just cause I heard someone at Gamefest pronounce it like "oh you mean, swot or"
I annoy my friends by pronouncing it like a He-Man villain in a cardigan: SWEAT-OR!

WORST names:
Infinite Undiscovery. (Wut.)
The Witcher. (Which Witcher? The wicked Witcher? When did "witch" become a verb??)
Alan Wake. (Yeah, I get the pun, and yes, I LOVED the game, but it may be the blandest title ever for a "horror" game)

Awesome Names:
Gears of War. (I am not a fan of FPS games in general, so I basically hate the GAMES, but I do like the title.)
Fatal Frame. (Pretty clearly conveys the idea of Camera + Dead Things.)
Dead Rising. (Liked the games, but the title is just perfection.)
Left 4 Dead and worse, Left 4 Dead 2. (Text-speak sends me into paroxysms of rage anyway, and then to have TWO numerals in the second title? L4D2 = Left 8 Dead? GRAAAH!)
