The Necron lord in Dawn of War is pretty fucking terrifying too.
You finally managed to down those advancing Necron warriors when all the sudden,a Necron lord teleports in to a nearby Necron controlled point, walks up to your troops like bullets and lasers are just for show, whips out his orb of ressurection, and at that moment, you know you're fucked.
To add insult to injury,he engages your troops in melee to charge up,and releases an electric pulse to kill them.I've never seen a problem that can't be solved with a Necron lord.

Based on name, voice, efficiency (uses of the unit) and personal bias. For me it's the 'Overlord Tank' from C&C: Generals. Despite the game not being so good, this unit is pure win. It has awesome lines, can crush everything and in large enough quantities is basically unstoppable.

So what's your choice? Cast away!
The Mammoth mk II in Tiberian Sun (the overload is EA's wanna be mammoth thats no where near as cool or good :p)

Basically from Red Alert 1, I loved the Mammoth tank, with the missiles it could down anything, troops, aircraft and buildings. But still not enough to win. Needs more cool lines and that propaganda tower helps too :)

The Zerg Roach from Starcraft 2. I just love how they look and function, and how "comforting" it is to have such a robust unit in the early-mid game. A bit underpowered, but whatever.

Well a few came to mind.
Firstly the Pariah squad from Necrons (dawn of war series). Strong melee attackers that lower the maximum health of whatever they hit: soldier of vehicle.

Stealth tank from any Command and Conquer game, somehow EA has managed to at least not crap on that unit. Only thing I liked about C&C4.

The Titan from Tiberian Sun. The medium/heavy tank equivalent of the GDI and he was damn awesome.

Definetly the Monkeylord from Supreme Commander. What could possibly beat a giant robo-spider with a big FRIGGIN' laser attached to it's FRIGGIN' back!

Teron Gorefiend from Warcraft 2. He was so good that even putting on God mode didn't save you from his attacks.

Stealth suits from Dow Dc. 4 anti tank weapons in an invisible squad that can fly... Also if you spend all of your population on them they can reck anything.

I like the raider starship from AI War: Fleet Command. It's weapons have 100% shield penetration allowing it to soften up fortified locations that would take normally take many units and many casualties to overcome. On top of that it is also an extremely fast unit AND being a starship it is more resilient than normal ships allowing it to act as a sort of blockade runner. It rushes past enemy strongholds and takes out key targets before you send in the rest of your fleet, and it usually survives to do it again later too.

I have to give it to the Kasrkin squad from DoW. They're just dudes with armour and a selection of intersting weapons and grenades fighting off the horrors of the universe...and they're all from London to boot.

(EDIT: also, balls, I was hoping to be undert the post before last)

The Hammer - a level 1 ARM Kbot. I just love how the thing moves and that it has those sweet gun opening things.

For sheer power and awesomeness, it has to be the Krogoth.

I'd have to say the Baneblade from the Dawn of War games. They make playing as the Imperial Guard piss easy. Simply 'Hold The Line' with a network of turrets and garrisoned bunkers until you can get the Mars Pattern Command, then as soon as you build the Baneblade you've basically won by default. Especially if you have another one ready to be built in the queue in case your first one bites the dust, which is usually unlikely.

Otherwise, I have a soft spot for cavalry units in general in Total War. Purely because they allow me to use my favourite tactic, which is to charge the enemy from the rear and rout them in one go. 0r top charge from two sides at once in a pincer movement...

Really? I'll take you on as Necrons and use my Monolith spam/(Those freaky flesh guys) Too kill ya.
Because I can teleport them anywere on the map and then teleport back.
So I say the monolith! :D From DOw

Hmmm....
I'd have to say the King Kriptor from SC2. I love that big guy. He can survive 2 direct nukes. If that's not epic enough, I believe he's the tallest unit in the game, and instead of hands has two gigantic plasma cannons that can blow the crap out of anything.
If not that then the UEF aircraft carrier/factory, or just the plain air factory. The carrier can actually go underground, and if you have the full 25 bombers in a carrier, get 2 or 3 carriers and your set to go. The air factory is massive, produces aircraft at a fraction of the cost and time, and can bombard from the air. The only weakness is the low hp.

Speaking of teleporting. There is also a cool, sleek guy from Red Alert 2. The Chrono Legionare. He can teleport everywhere, has cool-down based on distance and his attack basically erases the victim from the current time line with the words "Removing..." of "Never existed." he's pretty awesome, but still, one vote to count and it has to be the tank :).

Pre Red Alert 3 Apocalypse Tank, it can kill pretty much anything on the ground and in the air
If they had kept the apocalypse tank the same in RA3 it would be the perfect little package with those visuals, the apoc tanks look really nice

I'm afraid I have to do what some other people did and pick one from each game, since despite being in the same genre the units in RTS games and their functions can vary tremendously.

From StarCraft II I have to go with the Dark Templar. While they can be costly to get out and are easily countered, if you can catch your opponent off guard a handful of them can decimate an entire ground army in seconds.

From Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 I'll go with the Mammoth Tank. While I'm not really a Soviet player I have to admit the super heavy tank is just awesome. It can run over OTHER FUCKING TANKS!!

And lastly, from Dawn of War, I have to go with the Dark Eldar relic unit, the Dais of Destruction. I'm a Tau player, but seeing the Dais wipe out an entire infantry army with one use of its ability is just wicked.

Yes! a fellow SupCom player.

OT: I can't belive I am the first to mention the Fatboy. It is a mobile land factory with four triple-barrel artillery guns plus aircraft resupply stations. And it can go under water.

The Fatboy. So you can shell the crap out of your enemy while building your forces.

Oh. And the Mammoth tank. Spesifically the one from Tiberium Wars because it gave us this quote.

"Yea verily, though I charge through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I am driving a house-sized mass of "fuck you."
