Yes, because good companies getting masses of funding is, and has always been, a bad thing. Face it, EA are the good guys now.SantoUno said:I swear I'm gonna kill EA one day. Not because I'm a 360 fanboy and don't want to see Mass Effect on the PS3, but because they bought Bioware!!!?
I love bioware...SantoUno said:I swear I'm gonna kill EA one day. Not because I'm a 360 fanboy and don't want to see Mass Effect on the PS3, but because they bought Bioware!!!?
I Can't wait for that game...Pingieking said:*Tunnelvision* Dragon Age *Tunnelvision*
Ah yes, LittleBigPlanet.sasquatch99 said:Good for the PS3.
It will be getting a good game to go with it's other good games.
Case in point: they have at least three active major public projects (ME2, Dragon Age: Origins, and The Old Republic), one of which will be perminantly ongoing unless handed off to a new division. Five years ago, they could barely do one at a time.axia777 said:Why? Ea has been nothing but good to Bioware. They are funding them like Bioware never was before. Now Bioware has cash to make all the awesome games they ever wanted.SantoUno said:I swear I'm gonna kill EA one day. Odds are that Microsoft has an ongoing deal with either Bioware and/or EA for exclusivity regarding the Mass Effect IP. When the third game comes out (and it will, let's be honest), there will likely either be a PS3 ME Trilogy pack (along with a 360 pack) on sale within a month or year of that final release, whether that would be due to the deal expiring or the willingness to terminate the contract early.axia777 said:Who wants to bet some cash money that Mass Effect 1 does not get ported to PS3 too? EA has the money and they just know that they would make bucket loads of cash off of both games from PS3 owners who love RPG's.Kalezian said:well, atleast the pstripple's wont be able to have pre-made characters in Mass Effect 2, just goes to show that 360 players will be better.
I and millions of other PS3 owning RPG playing gamers care.Pr0 InSaNiTy said:WOW! Nobody cares!!!
But it is not up to Bioware. It is up to EA because they now own Bioware and all their IP.Psychosocial said:Bioware are not retarded enough to release the sequel of a fucking COMPLETLY story driven game, on a system that the first one is not on. Mass Effect 1? Maybe. Mass Effect 2? That's the silliest thing I've ever heard.
No, your argument is flawed. They only PUBLISHED Left 4 Dead for Valve. They do not own Valve at all. It was in fact Valve's decision to not support the PS3 with a port of Left 4 Dead. They are lazy and don't want to learn how to program for the PS3.Psychosocial said:You mean in the same way they made Left 4 Dead for the PS3? Your argument is flawed. EA are not the badguys, go back to 5 years ago.axia777 said:But it is not up to Bioware. I have never read that any where. I just know that Gabe Newell said that Valve would never develop anything for the PS3. I also know that since Valve owns Left 4 Dead they get the majority of the profits.Psychosocial said:Did you ALSO think of how Valve said that if someone wanted to, they could just make the PS3 port of Left 4 Dead?
I bet it was because Microsoft published the first one, and sent some "help" to Bioware in order to keep on the Xbox 360.ae86gamer said:No, no it will not. [http://www.vg247.com/2009/10/16/bioware-mass-effect-2-is-for-pc-and-xbox-360-only/]
Sorry to anyone who wanted it on the PS3 (Me), but it won't be happening. Not anytime soon at least.
EA bought BioWare?! Bastards...axia777 said:Yah, but this is EA we are talking about here. When has EA ever kept a game exclusive? I don't think that they ever have. EA wants money. EA wants to sell more games. How can they sell more games? They can sell them by making them multi-platform. It is simple logic.TheHitcher said:It's possible for Mass Effect to end up on the PS3. But I wouldn't count on it. I remember when Metal Gear 4 was meant to make it to 360...
That didn't happen. This may not either.
Well, I will try to find the quote from Gabe. But why are you angry? Getting angry over a debate if Mass Effect will come to the PS3 or not is hardly something to get emotional about.Psychosocial said:Well, kinda funny, because I read it here on The Escapist a while back. I'd get you a link to it, but I'm in a state of anger at the moment.axia777 said:I have never read that any where. But again, EA owns Bioware, so the whole Valve situation is a moot point as it has nothing to do with the Mass Effect situation.
Yah, it happened a few months ago. Unless you were being sarcastic. Sometimes I just can't tell over the Internet.TheHitcher said:EA bought BioWare?! Bastards...
My bet is he dropped info that he was not supposed to. I still don't believe him. I think he leaked and it was a fuck up on his part. Now he is back peddling to deny it.ae86gamer said:No, no it will not. [http://www.vg247.com/2009/10/16/bioware-mass-effect-2-is-for-pc-and-xbox-360-only/]

I would take your bet but I know better. I would bet because TES: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Sid Meiers Civilization all started elsewhere yet are popular on Xbox and PS3 without porting the elder games. But I'm not because there is money in porting and EA needs that money.axia777 said:Who wants to bet some cash money that Mass Effect 1 does not get ported to PS3 too? Yes they do need the money. Their stock has been dropping for a while now. My other suspicion is that EA is desperately trying to get out of any agreement that Bioware previously made with Microsoft. I suspect they have a team of lawyers trying to figure out how it could be done.DrunkWithPower said:I would take your bet but I know better.
