Could you kill somebody?

In a situation where my own life or the lives one or more other human beings are in danger and would continue to be unless I killed someone, then yes I would probably kill that person. How, I have no idea. I don't carry knives with me and strangulation causes convulsions which make me psychologically uneasy.

Hey its you or the other guy. If he was a scumbag trying to kill you, well then, you did the world a favor getting rid of him. He was born from a mother same as you, and you are entitled to life as much as he.

If he thinks to take that right away from you then take his life from him.

But I simply can't think that way. If someone was trying to kill me I would run, hide, or beg for my life. I just can't bring myself to kill another person, even if they are going to kill me.

Once again you don't really know until it actually happens, in your case, scratch that everyone heres case I hope it never happens. But tell me if circumstances gave you the choice of him dead or you as much as I hate to say against your convictions, you would fight back and kill. I'm not trying to do this in a "your wrong" kind of way but I'm simply going by what I know of human nature, when pushed to the limits to survive humans really are capable of anything.

If someone I loved was in danger I would not hesitate to kill whoever I needed to, to make them safe again. It would, obviously, be much easier if I had a knife but even if I didn't I would kill them if I was given the chance.

"Never kill unless to defend yourself or other's, or kill if ordered by someone who clearly knows what their doing."
That last part was just in case I would become some mafia hitman ^^'
So yes, I would only do it in self defense

Perhaps I should explain more.

If I was in a situation in which I was being threatened by a deranged killer, I would not try to fight back. I would try to escape, because that's what my survival instinct has always told me to do when I'm in danger. Because I am almost guaranteed to lose. Now if I was trapped and about to get killed, I might try to fight back but I would probably fail horribly.

That's how I see my encounter with a killer playing out. Your right that in situations of panic humans do things that we would normally never do, so I can't say for sure what I would do. That's just what I think would happen.

Possibly. There was a paper or something a long while back(can't recall which) that said that in combat only about 20%(I think) of soldiers could consciously attempt to harm another human being. That discovery led to the desensitization training that many armed forces use today. Untrained people would probably have a lot of trouble with actually pulling the trigger, or swinging the sword, or whatever. So many of you who say you would might kind yourself in the situation unable to follow through.

So, I'm not sure if I have it in me.
