Her voice hurt my ears. We need to have an emergency stop added to japan and her internet, so when the robots become aware we can prevent them from using our own info against us. The robots will have facebook death squads just you watch.

That girl needs dancing lessons, the other girls were more fluid, I bet she is the daughter of some rich guy.

Everytime I see something like this I'm thinking "Awesome robotics has come so far!" and then I get depressed when I realize all this tech seems to be leading up to robo-Protitutes. If an alien race visited earth and was trying to decide to make contact with us or not they'd probably say "Well it looks like the earthlings are to busy *&^%ing their robots to be of any interest to us" and then they'd move on. XD

Assume the position.

I wonder how much it cost to build a swaying piece of mechanical human.

I really do appreciate the Japanese making the next step towards skynet but this is just too far on the uncanny valley

I love how people on this thread reacted totally unimpressed as if they could do better. THE SUPERIORITY! IT IS KILLING ME!

She reminds me of that one girl in every high school production- you know, the one who doesn't really want to be there, with the minimalistic move bustin' and everything.
Except this bot was center stage. And creepy to boot.
Still, I'm impressed at how well these infernal machinations are progressing.
EDIT: Ooh, creepier still- 1234 posts.

you know apart from the gaudy performance, this is aismo with a rubber mask
Pretty much this, yeah. I could easily see old Asi doing that exact same dance, just a bit stumpier and with a stig-helmet for a head. It's a goddamn zombie. The human dancers around it embarrass it. Hell, I'd probably embarrass it. It's dancing much like I do... staying in one place, half heartedly shifting my weight and flailing my arms; both of us may as well be only present from the waist up, and sat on a table. But I'd raise my game in response.

Now, once it manages to keep pace with it's so-called backing dancers, then we'll be getting somewhere. Its current balance is NOT impressive - it's about the same level we were at 5 or more years ago. It can't even jump from one leg to the other, let alone waltz.

The walking-towards-you video IS as creepy as all hell though. AIM FOR THE POWER PACK - six shots, quick smart!

Shit son, that's gotta be the most terrifying thing I've seen all year. What the hell, Japan?!
Are you guys WANT the robot apocalypse to happen?

*glances at the huge stack of mecha themed anime DVDs*

Forget what I just said... -_-

I've never seen such bored dancers. Also, I'm pretty sure at least one of them either IS a stripper or has aspirations to be one.

Although the robot, when I noticed it, wasn't bad. The legs were pretty spiffy, in fact!

Once they work out that problem with the jarring 'stops', I expect the next robot will be a LOVE robot.

It better be...

ah one step closer to a real sexbot. XD

You all know thats the only reason to make androids, you dont need a human look alike for them to be 'maids' :p
