To be honest a lot of the fanart I've seen has shown her in bras, lingerie and all sorts of pseudo sexual moe stuff. She even came across one of them herself.

I'm not sure how she herself feels about it, but to me the people doing those kinds of pictures are really creeping me the fuck out.

You just essentially demoted an actual human being to a semi waifu fantasy because of her looks. Especially when half the pictures are creepy bra and panties stuff.

It makes me feel uncomfortable all around.

Always good to see some cuteification take the edge off international affairs. She really is cute, aha, if only all our world leaders looked like this...

As for the complaints about objectification, does it really matter? It's just a bit of fun, rare that a political leader is a pretty young woman rather than an ugly middle-aged man. Take it as a compliment.

Sex appeal is power. Being shown in a sexual light doesn't make anyone less of a person, get over it.

No it's not. And this brings up a problem. I highly doubt she got where she was now with sex appeal. Especially when the country in question is on a very thin line. Looking looking cute doesn't land you a job in any sort of political power. Especially considering how she wasn't even in the first batch of pickings for the position anyway. So clearly her sex appeal didn't do all that much.

Also pretty fucking insulting to insinuate that she got to where she was now through sex appeal as opposed to...you know- actual qualifications and experience to get the job.

On that note, I do not like any pictures that moeify, sexualize, and pervert real people. I don't fucking care if it's a man or a women. Especially if they are still alive. It's creepy as fuck.

So don't come over telling me to "get over it" because I won't.

Oh, and there is a quote button. Use it next time.

I'm not implying that she used her sex appeal to get there. No-one is.

Not at all, it's just nice to admire the fact that as well as having brains, she has a cute body too.

If you don't like them, don't look at them and let others have their fun?

Then what was the point of saying sex appeal is power then?

I never advocated for all those images to be abolished.

Too me I just don't feel comfortable doing this kind of stuff with living people. Especially when it's sexualized like some of the fanart is. I'm not going to stop anyone from doing it. However that doesn't mean I can't express my distaste for it.

It can be. If you can make the opposite sex lick your boots and do your bidding just with your body, I'd call that power. And it can co-exist with other sorts of power. A queen can be both a fearsome ruler and a sex icon.

Then that's settled, perhaps. I just took it as a "this should be banned because it offends me" thing. But by this understanding is it any more acceptable with people who have died? Respect for the dead, and all.

So what exactly does this have to do with the women in question talked about in the article. Where it has already been shown that she hasn't utilized any sex appeal to get where she is right now? Which is the first thing yous said in response to me feeling weirded out by people making sexual pictures of a living person who is now aware of said pictures.

Like I already told you, doing porn pictures of real people for your own sexual satisfaction creeps me out. Whether they are dead or alive is irrelevant to me.

Oh dear.

She just asked for more of these pictures on Twitter.

I wonder if someone should inform her of why that is an unwise thing to do.

It kinda says it all when the person in question has more of a sense of humour about it than the people "Standing up for her" on the internet.

She IS pretty cute.

Kinda funny that a politician is spawning so much fan art. Then again I can't say I'm very surprised.

Edit: To those who disagree with the artwork and claim they are feminist let me just point this out here. THIS IS SADDAM HUSSEIN AS AN ANIME CHARACTER http://imgur.com/a/UBc8p#28
I'd never thought in all my life I would ever see a drawing of a female Adolf Hitler. :p

Again, I can't say I'm surprised. This is the internet.

Why is it a demotion exactly? I'm pretty sure most hardcore 2D-con out there would prefer that over a 3D woman so in their eyes it's actually elating her to a higher plane of existence, further accenting her perceived good points such as charm or cuteness.

Ultimately, this phenomenon is like Kantai collection or Touhou, it's a thing that happened in 2chan and spun out of memetic control into what we have right now. I for one enjoy the drawings and that's all. The Oreimo one was especially hilarious cause it fits so well!

"I can't believe my attorney general is this cute!"

Ha! Genius.

How is that patronizing? 33 is not old. By the standards of today 33 is quite young. Many people don't settle down until well into their 30's. Some people haven't even launched a career at that age. So yes, she is a "young lady," especially if we consider her position, which is a very high position for a person so young. The US Attorney General is currently 63 - nearly old enough to be this woman's grandfather. Like it or not, she is young. I think the term "young lady" is appropriate considering the type of person one would expect to be in her position.
Sorry, but in today's colloquial use, the term "young lady" is generally not used for any woman much over the age of 16. I would not refer to a 23-year old adult woman as "young lady" any more than I would refer to a man of the same age as a "young gentleman."

EDIT: I just realized Gorrath and Eamar just made my point far more eloquently that I could. [Delete] [Delete] [Delete]... [Post]

I think it's the outfit and hairstyle really. Those hard clean lines and vivid colors. Ripe for coloring and drawing.

Not to mention the military and professional look is usually always good. Anyone is uniform usually looks good since it also generates, while not explicitly, a sense of order.

Wasn't there like..a Porno with a Sarah Palin lookalike? (Might be true, might be something I heard as a joke)

If it actually happens this all seems pretty subtle in comparison.

She looks young, almost childlike, her hair is in slight disarray, she has big eyes, she's wearing a classic military uniform and she's in a position of power. This is exactly the sort of character a manga artist would come up with anyway. She would fit right in in some military operations room in Gundam or something

Also, young attractive woman in a position of high authority? IN a relativelly small country that could be considered the underdog in a giant conflict? She already sounds like she is a character in an Anime.
This sums it up pretty well I mean just add mechs and stir.

The whole thing reminded of one of the greatest manga's ever created. Little outdated in terms of politics but basically all political issues are solved by mahjong and Pope kickass at it.

I mean really if we are going to get into a tizzy of this yall should take a look at some of the Obama and Paul Ryan fan arts.

Indeed there was. Not so sure it will happen again, at least not locally.

Sarah Palin was a household name in the US when that came out; I didn't even know this woman's name until this forum.
