I really don't understand why people get so wound up about PC vs Console FPS', yes the PC controls are definately more responsive but that doesn't stop Console games being enjoyable. They are usually designed around this exact limitation.

Limitations aside, it still raises questions as to why things are exclusive to platforms where they don't belong. Imagine if an arcade fighter (say...Street Fighter XI) was PC exclusive. "It's still enjoyable!" people would claim, but would you not ask a whole bunch of questions as to why such a thing was done?

Because FPS make more money on console with less work for the developer. Video games (business) will always go where the money is.

The issue here is that the joke being made applies just as much to consoles vs. PCs as it does to phones vs. consoles.
Yes, console FPSs can be perfectly fun, as can phone FPSs, the control schemes don't outright ruin the games in either case.

But making a joke about how a phone's control system is much worse than consoles for FPSs, without recognising that a consoles controls are much worse than a PCs for the exact same games is at best intellectual dishonesty and at worst pure hypocrisy.

I love how Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja get full console releases, both games you pull out while on the bus or waiting for porn to buffer or both.

But seriously, I think it just comes down to what you're more used to.
I like having the 360 controller layout with sensitivity turned down, so aiming's more presice.

That would probably be Dead Trigger, which annoying F2P microtransaction structure aside[footnote]It /really/ pushes the real money transactions, to a truly obnoxious degree. Especially since I'm pretty sure you have to buy it on iOS, and it used to cost $1 on Android -- on top of the microtransactions[/footnote], is a lot of fun. And actually, having played it, it's not all that much worse than playing an FPS on a console. They're both pretty clunky ways of going about something that was designed around the mouse and keyboard. Having played a couple of shooters on the DS, I'd even go so far as to say touch screen controls are right up there with Mouse and Keyboard, when implemented correctly. Which basically means "get a stylus."

Enough with the devisive commentary folks. Mobile, console, or pc, it doesnt matter as long as they're playing. This need to feel superior to your neighbour only damages gaming culture as a whole. If you wanna play your FPS on a console so be it. Enjoy. I prefer PC if only because I've been using that control scheme for almost 15 years. However, some of my finest gaming memories involve Golden Eye. It's like watching an impressionist claim their approach is a truer artform than surealism.

Bravo, guys. You both hit the nail on the head. I have no problem with console controls because I've played more FPS's on home consoles than on the PC. I haven't tried paying one on my phone, yet. I think it's a case of which types of games are best suited for what platform you prefer?

Y'know, it's funny, I just built myself a pretty decent gaming computer solely so I can finally play all my Steam games without framerate issues and crashing, and soon I'll be able to officially call myself part PC-Gamer... It's comments like this that make me kinda regret that choice... I don't wanna be associated with this type of dipshit behavior. I'm... I'm part of enough fandoms/groups that I'm moderately ashamed of, y'know...?

Just because some people, in a group of people who like something, act like jerks doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun doing something you like.

To the flamewar: I hate thumbsticks for cursor control. They frustrate me to no end. I can be at the top of a leaderboard in an online shooter on a modern console and still be cursing the piece of shit I'm holding in my hands that keeps me from aiming properly. It's completely impossible for me to have fun while playing such a game.

That said, I've actually played a shooter, on the PS3, with a proper control scheme. You can plug in a mouse and keyboard, and they're usable for Unreal Tournament. I'd say that means there's no argument here.
