I didnt play starcraft 2, yet!..., But I can see where they are coming from, remembering warcraft 3 multiplayer. Actually in any strategy game (RTS or TBS, single or multi) the complexity of intro/cutscenes seems to carry us into a universe that seems to vanish as soon as the game starts.

It's a parody of this: Snip.
You know, I knew there was a terran marine cinematic, and I guessed the comic was a parody of that. So I went on youtube to do some research, and all I could find was this: A video with the exact same joke...
Yeah...I guess we'll go with the benefit of the doubt that he hadn't seen that video already.

It's a real shame that both Terran and Protoss can out-Zerg the ZERG now. Reactors, warpgates + chronoboost > spawn larva.

This comic was funny, not necessarily original, but funny.

And, if I can do off topic here for a sec, am I the only that's bothered by the fact that he has pants on? I mean if he's getting welded into a suit you'd think that from a sanitary point of view you wouldn't want any fabric between you and those handy holes in his armour's crotchal area.

Is it weird that I get 3 Zealot rushed more often then I get Zerg rushed?
No, Diamond players mostly play Protoss. Though, the diamond league zergers are potent monstrosities of unit spam.

Something similar occured to me mid game. Tychus is probably knee deep in piss in that suit.

It's a parody of this:
So are the marines prisoners? cuz he was in cuffs.

Also hes still smoking under the helmet wouldnt that fog up the suit and fill it with smoke?

Not all marines are prisoners, but in case of wars they would use prisoners and basically re-program them to make them model soldeirs. Although those would usually be used as cannon fodder.

While normal soldiers were treated a bit better.

I didnt get the joke, but thats probably because Ive never played Starcraft.
The first part of the comic is a reference to an early trailer for Starcraft. It shows a rather long preparation of a marine getting into is armor. However, it's all for moot because the zerg just rushed him and all that prep was for nothing. :D

lol, it'd be funnier if I'd only played SC1, not SC2... because since that's supposed to be someone in particular, and not just a generic marine... he could just use a concussive grenade to take out most of those zerglings... :p

well the joke is, in the cutscene, all this prep is there hyping up his battle, but it's just another of the weakest units there that will die quickly. now the starcraft nerd in me would like to say that this particular marine is tychus, an old friend of raynors. and the suit is specially designed so he cant get out. he is a main character who was a prisoner, that's why the cutscene has him in shackles. he was offered release on the terms that he would do "favors" for those releasing him.

A single barracks? That player is insane! You need at least 4 to keep a steady flow a Gauss Rifle rounds flowing. This was very funny, I like the obvious moment of "Oh crap" he has after exiting the barracks. I'd say keep it up, but you'll do that regardless.
Only tangentially related, but why are they called gauss rifles? They are most emphatically machine guns. Deactivating and reactivating the electromagnetic fields to fire a gauss rifle would limit fire-rate. It would fire sequentially, not in bursts, amirite?

I thought that was the firebats and marauders-though less thank 25% of marauders were actually convicted of murder. XD

Zerg rushing is HARD I can't fucking do it.
Keep practicing, man, you'll get it down, eventually.

I have confidence in you!

Oh, firebats used to be one of the most efficient counters to the ling rush, if you could get them out. Knowing that you can't use them in multiplayer puts a smile on my face.

OT: Excellent comic, close to my gamer heart. They just want to cuddle!

Actually you wouldn't need to deactivate the electromagnetic fields, because the Gauss Rifles in Starcraft work by pushing the bullets from a cardridge through the accelorators. This allows them to maintain rapid fire (although it is designed to only fire in bursts) of up to 30 rounds per second. There are also more advanced versions that have a single firing mode, while lacking the obvious advantage of rapid fire, the round moves a lot faster, allowing for deeper penetration.

More of a machine gun/gauss rifle hybrid, then? You'd think to make a hybrid, though, you'd need deeper penetration. It just stands to reason, if you're perverted.
