I was counting the days till someone made this comic.

The copypasta maps is pretty much the only issue I have with the game though. Other than that I think it's better than the original.

The areas were streamlined. Today's market just can't handle multiple areas with different layouts, it confuses and scares them. So now the levels are all the same, meaning nobody will have to think or be bored exploring anymore.

Thats probably not what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
"Dumbing it down" is such an overused explanation for everything. It's either used as a way to hand-wave things you disagree with, or a poor excuse for why something sucks. In this case, it's more likely just developers not paying attention to the fact that we're running through the same cavern for the fifteenth time.

I saw someone complain that the DA2 art style was dumbed down, and I had absolutely no clue what they meant. How do you "dumb down" an art style, short of replacing everything with stick figures? Whatever. It's just that whenever I hear someone imply that games (or anything else) are made crappy and stupid to appeal to a larger audience I generally roll my eyes. It's such a snobby, elitist attitude. Making something simple and stupid doesn't guarantee that it will be more popular at all.

I invoke Troll's Law. It's impossible to tell the difference between someone joking and seriously being an idiot on the internet.

Ha ha, seriously? Dragon Age 2 does the same thing the first Mass Effect did? I still don't know how those guys pulled it off.

LOL that was epic.
I really really hated this map(s). It is less pathetic than the "secret side quest where the demon is and where X is hiding and where you meet Y". I mean come on, 5 maps for a game?

^I'm hungry? I thought that "I want to be a dragon" was THE one.

It's cool. I was joking.

Looks like someone with admin access has been at the tangy kool-aid.

I'm just sayin...

Varric is really unreliable when it comes to actual level designs.

I figure his main thing is to say "We went to a cave, we kicked ass" so the Chantry has to decide by themselves the layout of the caves.

What really depressed me was playing Dragon Age 2 for a bit, then booting up Diablo 2. Suck procedurally rendered environments you lazy Bioware-types!

Felt the same thing about any side-missions in Mass Effect. 2-3 different types of interiors.

I was really disappointed in DA2 and thus is one of the reasons why. Good comic anyways. Also, is erin going through rouge, warrior and mage classes throughout the panels? Rouge armor, then iron armor with sword, then mage champion armor?

Offspring reference, eh? I love you guys now. Will proceed to watch MLP:FiM play Dragon Age 2 and see if this is actually true
